    Sudharshan,

Happy yugadi! nice song on this occassion. I liked the lyrics, thanks.

BMK and Rajkumar versions are in Sankarabaranam raga, but this SJ version is in a different raga. I think it's Behag.

    Thank you RR.
Generally, in film music one can not stick to the particular notes based on one raga.
Raag ‘Behag’ is janya of ‘Shankarabharanam’ (Dheerashankarabharana). I feel SJ’s voice in this song with base note C# and having most reference notes of Shankarabharana raga.

    Today is Ramanavami.
Here is a popular compostion by Shri Purandaradasaru which narrates that just by chanting the name of ‘Rama’ as Vedic verse,
one can easily rob (sUregoMbu) the heaven i.e., very easily attain abode/emancipation.

    Meaning of the song:

    (maMtra = vedic verse/verse)
Hey man (hE manuja), make the name of RAMA as Vedic verse (rAma maMtrava) and chant repeatedly (japiso)

Dont' believe (necci) in any other verse (A maMtra I maMtra) and deceit (keDabEDa) yourself (nI)
This is the verse (maMtra) Lord SOMASHEKHARA said (hELida) to his (tanna) wife (bhAmini/sati)

Even the mean person (kulahInanAdarU) can chant (japisuva) this mantra loudly (kUgi)
all of them in the main/small roads (tale bIdi bIdyoLu) say (nuDiva) this mantra
many (halavu) evils/sins (pApaMgaLa) will be reduced (hasanugoLisuva) by this mantra
the mantra by which you can rob (sUregoLLuva) the heaven (svarga) very easily (sulabhadiMdali)

mantra which reduces/get rid of (hiMgisuva) all evils (hIna guNaMgaLa)
what shall I say (EneMbe), this is the mantra by which VIBHEESHANA (vibhIShaNage)
    got his status/power (paTTa kaTTida)

Essence (sAravenipa) of All (sakala) the Vedas (vEdaMgaLa) is this mantra
the root (mUla) mantra to get emancipation (mukuti mArgake)
the mantra which show (tOruva) the way (baTTe) to adoration/devotion (bhaktirasake)
this mantra is nothing but Puranadara viThala's verse/mantra which gives pleasure (sukhanidhi)

    Sudharshan,

This is one of my favorites, and I finally get to know the meaning, tks! Yes there are many versions. The very first I listened to was in Brindavani, by TVS.

Ramanavami brings to my mind the Bangalore concerts in Sheshadripuram. Miss those days. I hope they are still being organized (and still free).

    Thank you RR.

Yes. It is again 'Ramanavami festival' season here in Bangalore, many Carnatic music lovers will be eagerly waiting for this occasion. Gayana sabha, Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple ( Makkala koota, Chamarajapet). Malleswaram ramamandira, Seshadripuram Ramaseva samithi have arranged nearly month long music concerts by different artists. There are other new areas have also come up with same arrangement in their areas.

A small detail about Ramanavami festival cencerts appeared in local news DECCAN HERALD dated today:
