Each one has their own unique impression.

KR Vijaya touched audience hearts with her realistic portrayal of the common family woman and also expresses sentiments very well which now inspires alot of megaserial "sad" characters.

Jayalalitha could play negativity in a character very well and was quite impressive in roles that demanded presence and also her penchant for dance also gave her a extra boost.

Jayanthi should also be added in as shes a fairly decent actress as well although she does not hold the expressions that savithri dazzled with.

To me i feel Padmini is much more versatile as although she slightly paled compared to savithri in normal human characters, She was much more powerful in movies with divine content. She could play the parashakthi role with ease in those days. But i prefer Savithri's more NT like impact of acting and i guess she is the best.

Difficult to choose between Padmini & Savithri, but finally I voted for Savithri - she did the comedy scene in "Mayabazar" with such elan, where she was supposedly Gatothkachan in female form !
