    From the 40s - Kurshid Bano in Mumtaj Mahal (1944)

    From Mumtaj Mahal (1944):

    Dil ki Dharkan Bana liya.............

    As I mentioned earlier I will post some songs by Saigal, Pankaj Mullick,K.C.Dey, Kurshid Bana, Suraiya,Shamshad Begum and others who were popular in 30s to 50s( Before the Mangeshkar sisters). Hope you like them. It is different style of singing!

    Wonderful song raj sir. Thanks. Unbelievably this song had 40 second prelude even at that time. Khurshid Bana, what a sweet voice. When Melody 'was' Queen. Loved the caption, aptly said 'was' and not 'is' queen. BTW, do you know who composed this song?

    Sunil,
    Sorry missed your great posting from Babul. Talat & Shamshad Begum and absolute gem from Naushad ji. Thanks. I have never seen such big eye-brows as Dilip Kumar's.

    With recent discussions on Karthik Raja and his capabilities, I just feel sorry that he didn't get his due. Grahan is one album I still listen to occasionally - extremely underrated hear the songs here, http://www.songspk.pk/indian/grahan_2001.html a must for all Rahman Ji and Raaja Saab fans, this audio displays the best of sensibilities from the two.

    Here is song that wasn't featured on OST, the title credits "Yeh Muniya Piya Ghar" Ila Arun and Alka Yagnik , the male singer sounds like Master Rakesh but doubt it's him. The second song in the video, Kavitha Krishnamurthy - Nacho Jaise, fortunately is in the audio. First interlude is Vintahe IR material. Delight to watch Manisha Koirala again.

    Never heard this song before, but I was definitely moved to tears after initial hearing. A song about a family giving their daughter to their in-laws.

    Salute to Malika-e-Tarannum Noor Jehan Ji

    Nigahein Milaker Badal Jane Wale from Pakistani film Mehboob (1952) composed by Rasheed Attre. The interludes are the same but I don't mind, it's a treat to hear such piercing music.

    From the 50s

    A song from Afsana(1951):

    Kismat bigdi duniya badli..........

    V_S: I don't know anything about the composer for the song by Khurshid Bano. If I come across anything I will post.
