    Sunil,
I was in 8th standard ( third form as they used to call it) or 9th standard when the movie,Samsaram, was released. I used to sing a few songs from samsaram. I recalled the equivalent of 'ye sansar ye sansar' from the tune. I searched for the Tamil version - 'samsaaram samsaaram sakala dharma saaram suka jeevana aadhaaram....'. But, had no success. I think it is available in raaga.com. But my computer would not display the list because I block pop-ups! May be, you can try! If I find it anywhere else I will post the link.

    Bhupali for the weekend !

Here is a song in Bhupali from the movie Bhabhi ki chudiyan(1961):

Jyoti kalash chalke, still a popular song:

Bhupali is Mohanam in carnatic music. Here is M.S.Subbulakshmi in Meera(1947):

    Giridhara gopala bala........

    Have a good weekend!

Art of minimalism is heartwarming indeed!

KAHIN EK MASOOM NAAZUK SEE LADKI.....romantic Rafi-Khaiyyam

    cajoling the girl ...MAGICAL!

minimalistic sitar, flute with Rafi from Khaiyyam Saab, composer goes after mood of the composition!
    Gorgeous poetry.

Master of tender delivery, Sanjeev Kumar is superb in Dastak.

He comes as a decent, loving man, newly wed, rents a flat unaware that the unit was a red light area house previously.

His new bride longs for a peaceful life, free of prying eyes of the neighbors, their nasty comments, just wants to enjoy her heart's wishes & marital bliss with her darling hubby.

Sanjeev Kumar restricts her, crumbles under society's pressures. she feels trapped, lonely and sad.

mai re main kase kahoon..... Lataji for Madhan mohan- Sanjeev Kumar's Dastak.
    Beautiful composition.

    thumri in charukesi.
    Lataji's bhaiya na.......

She loves to sing, adores her hubby, just wants to enjoy the marital bliss...
Can't they just leave her alone?
    horrible and awful janta!

Begin the week with a dance

    A popular song from Poonam(1952):

jhoome jhoome dil mera chanda ki chandni mein.........

A Tamil song in the same tune from RaththakkaNNeer:

aaLai aaLai paarkkiraar aaLai aaLai paarkkiraar........

DULHAN EK RAAT KI is a nice album with fantastic compositions from Composer Madhan mohan.

Rafi's ek haseen sham ko.... is popular.

I found this composition, piloo raga.
    Very enchanting composition.

maine rang li aaj chunariya.......LATA-MADHAN MOHAN IN RAG PILOO.

Lataji's partnership with Madhan mohan is awesome always.

Back to DULHAN EK RAAT KI - Madhan mohan.

    sapno mein agar mere.......

    kayi din se....

The composition , She sings before that awful night when he dropped her in his car, on the way raped her... very chilling scene, moving picture. Powerful with black and white shadows of Nutan's face , they didn't disgust us by showing the chasing rape, screaming and running.

Director shows class & culture with his subtle, powerful scene.
