I thought of opening a separate thread for translation of hindi song lyrics.. then I thought, I might as well add it here..

SP: I'm unable to recollect any song(s) with these meanings (or similar ones) other than the couple you have already posted.

However if I do so, I'll post it/them here.

could u recollect any song with the foll meaning

and its not

1. sau saal pehle hame tumse pyaar tha
hame tumse pyaar hai aur
kal bhi rahega

or

2. humne tumko dekha tumne humko dekha aise
hum tum sanam saatOn janam milte rahe ho jaise

I suppose its an 80z movie and quite a peppy tune ! (atleast NOT A PATHOS)

so now read these lines

dolee uthhee yoon jaise
arthe uthhee ho kisi ki

doli (when a girl gets married doli udthi hain na?)

artha = desire/wealth/prosperity etc

Doli (marriage) is lifted off,
as though to lift wealth and prosperity!

if she means it generally it is meant to say doli utna signifies prosperity or rise in prosperity.

IF she means her plight in irony she might have meant to say

My doli lifted off, to lift the wealth and prosperty away (from me) !

Shakthi: If I am right arthee means funeral pyre!

so the lines I think actually means

the wedding palanquin lifted off
like the funeral pyre...

I am not sure if you saw the movie...

In the movie, she actually runs away from her wedding without seeing the groom (Rajesh Khanna) to elope with her lover (Prem Chopra, I think), but finds out that he is a rogue and takes the train, in which she meets her friend who is a widow with a child, her friend says that she is going to meet her in-laws who she has never met before! The train meets with an accident and the friend dies.

Asha Parekh then decides to take the role of the friend, dresses up like a widow and heads to where her friend was supposed to go. This is where she meets Rajesh Khanna......

I think these two lines are to be read together to find the meaning

duniyan ne phir na poocha loota hai mujko kaise

None bothered to ask whats went wrong with me (or mere haal or whats up with me etc)
