Mere Desh Ki Dharti - UPKAR (1967)
Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri praised Manoj Kumar's earlier film Shaheed and enthused him to make a film on the Jai Jawaan Jai Kissan slogan. The slogan shaped into Manoj Kumar's official debut as a director for Upkar, where he believably played both a jawan and a kisan. A huge hit, Upkar made Manoj an authority on screen patriotism.

Hai Preet Jahan Ki Reet Sada - PURAB AUR PASCHIM (1970)
Purab Aur Paschim is a 1970 Indian film. The movie was produced and directed by Manoj Kumar, and was his fourth film on Patriotism. The film received generally positive reviews. Deepa Gahlot of Bollywood Hungama wrote "By linking the story to the freedom struggle, Manoj Kumar was saying that freeing India from British rule is not enough if Indians do not feel proud of their Indianness."

Kar Chale Hum Fida, Jaano Tan Saathiyon - HAQEEQAT (1964)
The movie was based on the 1962 Sino-Indian War. It won the National Film Award for Second Best Feature Film in 1965. This song has become synonymous with patriotism in India. (It means: We have sacrificed our lives and bodies for the Nation, now the Nation is in your hands, take care of it.)

Vande Mataram - ANAND MATH (1952)
This is a 1952 Hindi patriotic-historical film directed by Hemen Gupta, based on Anandamath, the famous Bengali novel written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1882. The novel and film are set in the events of the Sanyasi Rebellion, which took place in the late 18th century in eastern India, especially Bengal. This song played an important role throughout the Indian Independence Movement and was eventually declared the "National Song" (much more powerful than national anthem) at the time of Independence in 1947. Kumar's tune for Vande Mataram is still considered an important version of this popular and widely interpreted song.

Vande Mataram - A.R.RAHMAN (1997)
Vande Mataram is a 1997 studio album by Indian musician A. R. Rahman. It is the largest selling Indian non-film album to date. The album was released on the Golden Jubilee anniversary of India's independence. A critical and commercial hit, the title song from the album is one of India's most popular songs of all time.

The album was met with overwhelming responses. Rahman became the first Indian artist of popular music to go international when Vande Mataram was released simultaneously in 28 countries across the world. Rahman himself performed live at Vijay Chowk in New Delhi on the eve of the Golden Jubilee of Indian Independence to a packed audience that comprised the then Prime Minister of India, Inder Kumar Gujral.
