    Power

There is a song from Milap by Mukesh. "kai sadhiyOn se kayi janmon se" which is very close to my heart. I think thats also based on sivaranjani.
whenever I hear this song my mind goes away from my body and I feel something which cant be expressed. May be u may like to tease me for telling like this.
    But thats the truth.

I heard this song long back in my school days and got this feeling on the very first time itself. ( Remember... I didnt know any word in Hind. But I can sing this song )
Watched the video (courtesy; youtube ) recently.

The Mughal E Azam song(tune) missing in Akbar

The Tamil dubbed version of Mughal E Azam replaced one song with a Tamil song. The Hindi song is

Prem jogan Ban Ke Sundar .... by Bade Ghulam Ali Khan

The Tamil song for which the audio link was posted by Madhu:

I think the thread has enough contributors to keep it active. I will take a break for sometime yielding to the younger generation to post from 'not so old' movies! Have fun!

Shakthi: Carnatic system has more melakartas and raagas than Hindustani system. That is why you don't see much in Shivaranjani.

Thanks SP. Thanks raj sir, madhu for wonderful songs from shikari, chitchor, salaam terry kasam, mughal-e-azam.

I am posting after a long time. Back to all time favorite Madan Mohan ji. This time with a magical combo Talat ji. When people say Madan-Lata is the best ever combo, I tend to think Madan-Talat combo a little higher.

Teri chamakti inkhorn ke age yeh sitare kuch bhi nazi. Lyrics by gem of a poet Indeewar, one of this best. Lata ji's starting aalaap makes us feel light like the breeze as if we floating in the air. Talat ji voice makes us still lighter.

Do din ki mohabbat mien hum ne. Please hear the complexity and the variation in the tune. Talat goes to higher and lower pitches comfortably and switches back and again goes up, just like a kite dancing in the air, which way the air pulls it, it accommodates itself. Beautifully sung by Talat ji.

Both from the movie Chotte Babu (1957)
