Sob Story
there was a sob
like a toad
lodged in my throat
waiting to croak.
it wouldn't leap out
neither would it go down
always creeping up-
two leaps up
three leaps down.
almost like a threat
i'm going to cry!!
i'm going to cry!!!
the sob, i thought
was for a soul i sought,
in the plains of the indus
streets of the ex-raj
pearl of the orient
i never quite found.
and then you appeared
as a thought, as a face,
as a voice, as a vision.
as always in times
of my greatest need.
you on my horizon,
in flesh and blood
a journey was made
to hold and behold.
doubts were cleared,
blossoms appeared.
but the toad remained-
two leaps up
three leaps down
i'm going to cry!!
i'm going to cry!!!
what ever for?
there's the face,
in flesh and blood,
raining monsoons together
not just in ether...
and then today
it dawned on me
why there was a sob
lodged in my throat
as far back as i remember
as young as five years old.
two leaps up
three leaps down.
never quite coming out.
always a threat-
i'm going to cry!!
i'm going to cry!!!
until today...
when the great leap was made.
not to the moon
i hasten to say.
the toad-
two leaps up
three leaps down
threatening for three
nay, decades nearly four.
crying "wolf"!, sobbing cry
two leaps up
three leaps down
one great leap
breaking down.
i'm crying, i'm crying.
two sobs slow
three sobs deep.
now i know
why there was a sob
two leaps up
three leaps down.

Very nice poem shoba
Liberty is my religion. Liberty of hand and brain -- of thought and labor. Liberty is the blossom and fruit of justice -- the perfume of mercy. Liberty is the seed and soil, the air and light, the dew and rain of progress, love and joy.
