Peterson's heroics help Raptors stun Wizards
Last Updated: Saturday, March 31, 2007 | 12:13 AM ET
    CBC Sports

Morris Peterson's circus buzzer-beater forced overtime, and Chris Bosh scored eight of his game-high 37 points in the extra frame to spark the Toronto Raptors to a 123-118 road win over the Washington Wizards on Friday night.

Washington looked to have the game in hand in the final seconds until Peterson's remarkable play.

The Raptors' Morris Peterson (24) accepts congratulations from his teammates after his buzzer-beater sent Friday's game into overtime, where the Raptors beat the Wizards 123-118.

    ....

Not wanting to go to the free-throw line, the plodding big man chucked the ball upwards in an effort to run the clock down. But the sphere fell into the hands of Peterson, who nailed an off-balance, buzzer-beating three-pointer with his only shot of the game to force overtime, where the Raptors never trailed.

"When I saw (Ruffin) tip it, I looked and I saw I had a chance to get it, and it turned out the ball just came to me," said Peterson, who played only the final 4.4 seconds of regulation and the last 47 seconds of overtime. "I looked at the clock real quick and there was like one second, and I just threw it up. Thankfully it went in, gave us another chance — gave us another win, and I'll take it."

    ...cool....Mo Peterson... ...missed the game...

Chauncey Billups is rusty to the core.

Take out Hamilton and Wallace, we have a mediocre side!
