Hrishikesh Mukherjee - A Master film Maker
Hi All !!
This thread is dedicated to the great indian Film maker "Hrishikesh mukherjee" who unfortunately has passed away recently.
All his films are close to being called a master piece be it "anari" "anand" "aradhana" or "Golmal'.
he has conceived "characters" in his movies which are still being liked and watched by many.
He has got an amazing knack of bringing senstive issues in a forth right and simple yet lovable way
unlike being flashy, glamorous, using superlative technology -the things that dominate film making now a days
Though he was a true Artisan of film making , his biographies, history and film stats seems to rare in
the public domain.
All His fans are Welcome!!!!!! to share their opinion about their most loved films & characters of his movies.
any interesting information on his life or film making .or any tributes to this great personality of indian film indutry

yes superb director he was . "Anand" made both Rajesh Khanna & Amitabh Bachchan famous, the latter's role in the film was the genesis of the "angry young man" of Bollywood. Hrishida also directed "Khoobsurat" (1980) the hit film in a joint family milieu, which started a trend of such light hearted family oriented films in the early 1980's, and which also gave a new lease of life to Rekha's career.

While Hrishi-da is well known for the movies that he directed, his skill as an editor is not that widely acknowledged. The movies that he edited include the 1965 Malayalam classic "chemmeen", the first south Indian movie to win the national award for best movie. The next time you watch the movie, please try to see how the scenes and situations blend into one another so well that you wouldn't even notice how smoothly the movie flows from beginning to end!
