Welcome hero(indrupol endrum vaazhga)
Pick #142
http://tfmpage.com/stream/songs/welcome_ipev.rm
Song: welcome hero
Film: indru pol endrum vaazhga
Singers: PSuseela, TMS, BSSasirekha
Lyrics: pulamaipithan
Music: MSViswanathan
A catchy song, quite popular in VB. The lines were funny and for a primary school kid it was the 'appadi podu' of 70s. Like most of the catchy songs this one too faded from our memories.
Who was MGR's pair - radha saluja or bindiya goswami? I think MGR started the trend of bringing , what dinakaran likes to call 'mumbai azhagigaL', to TF. Did RS ever act in hindi films??

I believe it is Radha Saluja! I remember watching this movie as a kid and vaguely remember Anbukku naan adimai song where MGR walks around with an aatukutti, I think. I also remember the climax where MGR rescues Vijayakumar from a fire.

Ramki, so far I have not heard VJ's solo "sorname sorgame". Nice song indeed.
PArthu Sirikkudhu Bommai (Thirumadhi Oru Vegumadhi) is also a splendid solo by VJ. I guess it was for Kokila (Or Saranya?). Please post here this when you get that.
'Welcome hero' is a different kinda song but not very great. Ladies teasing the hero and he replies in return in later part of the song started ages ago from MAttu kAra vElan etc etc incl Adiye vanitha (SPBalu, PS, SJ) from pookkalai parikkadheergaL.
In this WHero song, I like that junakkuthaa... by the female voices and chorus.
I think IPEVazhga has one SPB solo????
Was there any song for V.Nirmala who acted Vijayakumar's pair?
Radha Salooja will show a girl after the line "Paris London sendru
vandha peNNunga"... appappa azhaho azhagu. ThAnga mudiyAdhu
In that TMS+PS duet, MGRholdingRS, ade ade.. indha thodai podhuma innum konjam veNumA (Ramba ellam phoo phoo)

Indru Pol, Endrum Vaazhga!
Ramki -
Eves' Teasing first thing in the morning! A fun pick!
Regarding Radha Saluja:
She is a grad from the renowned (now defunct?) Poona Film Institute.
Her claim-to-fame film is Do Raha (Two Paths) which featured her with Shatrughan Sinha and Anil Dhawan. This was remade into tamizh as "AvaL" *ing Vennira Aadai Nirmala and Srikanth. (Andha Kaalaththu "A" Padam!) The poster for this film was considered tres risque those days!
RS's other hindi films that I recall are Saza-e-Maut (Death Sentence) a quiet thriller, and first directorial venture of Vidhu Vinod Chopra of "Mission Kashmir" fame. RS was very good in this film (she played a defense attorney.) Her co-star was Naseeruddin Shah, also a FTII grad. Jungle Mein Mangal was another fun film in which she starred opposite Kiran Kumar.
Bindiya Goswami in a tamizh film? That's news to me. The other "bambaai" import jodi for MGR was Zarina Wahab in Navaraththinam.
