    Others' music which inspired Ilayaraja

We all know Ilayaraja is a genius .

Countless number of compositions from the maestro's infinite imaginative thoughts have come out

However, its an attempt here to find out some of his compositions which were actually inspired from others

I will post atleast for a day & lets analyze how far he was inspired

This is just a sharing of info on Ilayaraja & not to defame him in any manner

    Song no : 1

    Movie : Chinna Veedu

    Singers : SPB / SJ

    Song : Chittu kurivi vetkapadudhu

Inspired from Antonin Dvorak's Symphony 9 - New World. The actual track is Sym No. 9 in e, Op. 95: Scherzo: Molto Vivace.
Listen to Chittu kuruvi | Antonin Dvorak's Symphony 9 (The beginning of the Tamil song can be distinctly heard in this clip. Make sure you have your speaker volumes in max, it starts with a very low volume)
An exceptionally beautiful case of genuine inspiration. This is how a composer of repute gets inspired for his compositions. This can never ever be called plagiarism. Such instances are really rare and probably more common if we dig deep into Ilayaraja's compositions!

I have given the link below for the SOURCE :

Now you will realize the similarities or the inspiration etc ....

    Lets discuss this song now

The rhythm & style of composition are almost similar

    Kadhal vandhuruchi

Lets analyze the song Kadhal vandhurichi - from Kalyana raman !

    Excellent song.

Ilayaraja has made fine tunings over the original version.

I have given the link below for the source :

    http://www.itwofs.com/audio/LadyInBlack-UriahHeep.rm

Major portion of Kathal V , seem to be inspired from the above music :

Lady in Black--- by the rock band Uriah Heep!

Lady in Black was part of Uriah Heep's 1970 album, 'Salisbury'.

Looking forward to comments from experts

No...only the starting humming part is an exact inspiration from the song..the rest of the song is full of indian rhythms and a original tune....IR had alot of inspirations in his early career. After directors started trusting in him he began to give us songs that even nobody would imagine. pani vizhum...ilaya nila...kadhal oviyam...etc
