குமரா என்ற சங்கதச் சொல்லை கு+மரா என்று அம்மொழி வல்லுநர் பிரிக்கிறார்கள். எளிதில் இறப்பது என்பது சொல்லாக்கப் பொருளாம்.
இந்தச் சொல்லினின்று முருகனின் பெயர் அமைந்ததாகக் கொள்வதற்கு என்ன பொருத்தம் என்பதை நீங்கள் எடுத்துச் சொல்லுங்கள். பின்பு தொடரலாமே.

There are many such linguistic features that suggest that Rigkrit and hence Sk has SumneroTamil as its BASE language and hence a language that branched out from Sumerian around 2000 BC or so,

The European linguists seem to say that Skt is derived from another parent language which is now lost but can be reconstructed. That is to say that it is not an original language (according to them). This is not our view.

My response:
Thiru Sar,
கு என்பதற்கான அர்த்தங்கள்:
as a prefix implying deterioration , depreciation , deficiency , want , littleness , hindrance , reproach , contempt , guilt ;
மர (>மார) என்பதற்கான பொருள்:
1 mara dying , death ; the world of death i.e. the earth AitUp. killing ; the inhabitants of hell Aryabh. ;
2 mAra killing , destroying ; m. death , pestilence . ; slaying , killing ; an obstacle , hindrance, the passion of love , god of love (with Buddhists) the Destroyer , Evil One (who tempts men to indulge their passions and is the great enemy of the Buddha and his religion ; four Maras are enumerated in Dharmas. ; the thorn-apple L. killing , slaughter ; pestilence (also personified as the goddess of death and identified with Durga) AV.
இந்தச் சொற்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பொருள்களின் வட்டத்துக்குள்தான், உங்கள் சொற்பொருள் விரிப்பு அடங்கியிருக்க வேண்டும்: காரணம், இவை சங்கத அகரவரிசைகளில் தரப்பட்டவை.
Many thanks.

Exactly. We are ever grateful to them.
There should be suitable monuments built for them and properly maintained by the Govt(s). [ if not done till now.]
It is doubtful if Tamil could have become a classical language without the precedent hard work by these luminaries.
Full support for your views.

Sindhi and Tamiz

சிந்தி மொழிக்கும் தமிழுக்கும் சில ஒற்றுமைகளைச் சொற்களின் வாயிலாகக் காட்டினால், வியந்து எதிர்கொள்ள மாட்டீர்களே!
Mr Sirajul Haque* also complements this view. According to him:
"Sindhi is one of the Dravidian languages, and has its roots in the civilization of Mohenjo-Daro."
After deep study of Sindhi phonetics, phonology, morphology and syntax, the peculiarities of non-Aryan origin have been observed in Sindhi, and these non-Aryan peculiarities are similar to those of Dravidian languages. It can, therefore, be said that Sindhi has retained the characteristics of indigenous tongue, which was in use in Sindh before Aryan settlements in the area.

I have KIV-ed this for quite some time.

பிஸ்_மாலா அவர்களே,
சிந்திக்கும் தமிழ்க்கும் உள்ள சொல் ஒற்றுமைகளைப் பற்றி தாங்கள் எடுத்துரைத்தால் மிக நன்றாக இருக்கும்...
ஆயினும் பிரகிருதம் அல்லவா முதன்மொழி என்றும்... சமஸ்க்ருதத்தை விடப் பழைமையாதும் முன்னோடியானதும் என்றால் 'Sanskrit is born of sindhi ' என்ற கூற்று எவ்வாறு பொருந்தும்...?
'Their reports also assisted scholars in establishing that Sindhi is a non-Aryan or pre-Aryan language having its roots in the civilization of Mohenjo-Daro, and is related to the Dravidian languages.'
It can, therefore, be said that Sindhi has retained the characteristics of indigenous tongue, which was in use in Sindh before Aryan settlements in the area.
Sindhi is one of the Dravidian languages, and has its roots in the civilization of Mohenjo-Daro.

before we continue? There are some words on "pira" or"pra" there, discussed by FSGV.
That will give you more material for discussion on that specific issue. Will be back to discuss.........
Please call me "Sivamaalaa" instead of "bis_mala" which is only a user id. It should be B.I.S. Mala, but at the time of registration, dots between initials were rejected, as far as I can remember.
Now I came to know that there are lots of bismalas in Islam. Kindly oblige.

Thiruselvi Sivamaalaa,
Yes I looked the post where he has referred para is equivalent to pra in sanskrit...
Param is pronounced as ‘P’ram / Piram in Sanskrit.
Prathapam – Param + Thapam – Thapam has root in ‘Thavu’ – Thaavam – Thapam & Thavaram are old words When man lived in forests and Thaavam means forest fire.
still I am not able to fullyaccept this argument due to the fact that both 'para' & 'pra' exists in Sanskritic linguistics...
when we say for example 'paramapitha' it exists in both the languages... as a derivative or original... isnt it? if the above argument is placed it should have changed to pramapitha in their linguistics which is not there...
we have been using all the 'pra' words as such in daily usage without changing isnt it?
prapanjam, prathama mandhiri, prasatham, prapalam, prathibalippu... etc as FSG highlighted there... It had been used in this unchanged manner for hundreds of years and now the argument comes that para is the tamil equivalent of sanskrit pra...
My main question is:
why not consider both are northern words with different roots...where 'Para' prefix means Heavenly/Godly (Paralogam, Parabrahmam, Paramasivam, Panrandhaamar, ParaShakti etc) and 'Pra' = first?
because these correlations are easily making logical sense to me at first sight... hope you are following my originative point of view
thanks & regards

your basic views about Ta. & Skrt.
("Dravidian substratum")
உங்கள் கருத்து யாது?
சொல்லுங்கள், தொடர்வோம்.
