What's that? Never heard of this. Is it a South Indian variety?

    Hi alan,

Yes it is South Indian variety. Kothu kari means 'coarsely minced mutton'. With this they do kuruma which is a goes well with parotta.

Hi, just saw this recipe. Though not vegetarian, we don't take mutton. So I, replaced it with meal maker (made from soya). Turned out tasty!

    KOLA URUNDAI KUZHAMBU (MINCE)

    mince meat - 200 gms
    turmeric - 1/4 tsp
    salt
    ginger - 2 tsp grated
    garlic - 2 cloves
green chilli - 2 (add more if u like spicy)
    small onion - 1
garam masala powder - 1 tsp
puffed bengal gram powder - 3 tbsp (udaitha kadalai)
    oil to deep fry

    1. place mince, turmeric, and salt in a pan and saute on low flame till all the water evaporates
    2. grind with rest of the items.
    3. make small balls and deep fry in oil.

for the gravy: make normal khorma and add the mince balls.
