poppy seeds (khus khus) kasakasa...is used in India, but it is banned in the Arab countries....u can substitute the paste with cashew or badam paste or a combination of both !!

How to make fresh veg stock... I mean, not using the stock cubes but with fresh veggies...

VEGETABLE STOCK
5 cups water (1 litre)
2 onions , cut into half
2 carrots , cut into half lengthwise
1 bulb leek, slit into half
1 turnip, cut into half
10 whole garlic cloves
1 bay leaf
4 celery sticks
3 whole parsley sprigs
simmer everything together till the vegetables are well cooked but not mashed up to discolour the stock.
strain and store in refrigerator for future use.

MOONG DAL SOUP WITH PANEER
moong dal - 1/2 cup, soaked
green chilli - 1
turmeric - 1 pinch
oil - 1/2 tsp
cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
a pinch asafoetida
1 tsp grated ginger
salt
paneer crumbled - 3 tbsp
1. cook dal with chilli and turmeric; blend well and strain.
2. temper with the ingredients and serve garnished with crumbled paneer, and coriander leaves.

Is this like the thai chicken soup you get in thai restaurants?My husband loves that soup.Id like to try it for him.
