random musings
Seekers beware of the mellow inferno
Like a moth attracted to a flame I am drawn
What forbidden love is this wherein the closer I am to you the more I shall burn?
Like an inferno that consumes all that is in its path you do the same
I draw nearer and can feel the heat burning my face obliterating my features,
As I turn to ashes slowly a part of me is radiant, glowing; while the rest of me is dying, gray and falling apart yet drawing my last breath I plunge into the golden flames
Having attained final release.
This is a warning to all those who seek you
Thou art not a fountain of bliss but a glorious conflagration that burns away all vestiges of limitation
The curse of being Infallible
Have you ever felt a longing that leaves you breathless?
Have you felt a craving that drains your core?
Have you felt the pain of separation slicing you like a saber?
Have you endured the misery of being surrounded by everyone yet being
alone?
Have you wandered like a lost traveler, stumbling, knowing only your
destination but not the way to it?
Have you experienced a self loathing so great, that eats away your soul
when you realize how worthless you are?
Have you ever experienced the travails of birth and of this fearful
existence that hands you pain and pleasure like blows, leaving you
confused?
O Mother when you who are beyond all embodiment have experienced
None of my suffering perhaps that is why you don’t hasten to engulf me
MISERY
I look around to find a friend all that I see are a thousand corpses
I yearn to hold a hand pulsating with warmth all that I see is my own decayed to the bone
I look upto the skies hoping to be overwhelmed by a blue so beautiful
The sky has darkened and threatens to erupt like a long dormant volcano
And then the rains lash out, I seek protection but refuge is nowhere in sight.
Despair, agony and fear vie for supremacy; to feel so alone
This I fear is my vision of universal misery

here is another
I know not where this path leads there are a thousand wayfarers that I meet
Some accompany me further than others, friend how far shall we walk?
I am weary; yet this journey that I have embarked must I complete.
Will you walk with me till the end? Is that wishful thinking on my behalf?
For now we share so many experiences but when and where will our paths separate?
I fear the loneliness that this journey entails yet all my fears are allayed as long as you are by my side,
Walk with me in this journey of life you don’t need me but I, crave, long for your company.

Liberty is my religion. Liberty of hand and brain -- of thought and labor. Liberty is the blossom and fruit of justice -- the perfume of mercy. Liberty is the seed and soil, the air and light, the dew and rain of progress, love and joy.

Shambhavi, in your first poem were they all one, or were they supposed have been read separately? Still I found myself compelled to embrace the lonliness that seems to be embued in your words.

Shambhavi,
A very good and inspiring poem. Thanks for sharing with us.
I rewrote the same in my style. And I dedicate it to you.
HAND IN HAND
I trudge on an
Endless unknown path.
Many a soul I meet
But who
Shall walk till the end?
Though weary
The task
I must complete.
Will you walk
Hand in Hand along?
Afraid as I am
That you may go
Your way.
Yet I crave
Your nearness.
Will you walk
To the life's end?
Hand in hand?

to both versions!
Eager to watch the trends of the world & to nurture in the youth who carry the future world on their shoulders a right sense of values.
