NON Musical Works in ARR's Songs

With great interest, I have compiled this NON Musical Works in ARR's Songs which was discussed recently in ARR YG from various posts. Add your observations here..

Pachchakili (Karuththammaa) : Sounds of Chicken, Cow, Donkey, Sheep & lots ..
    Kokku Saiva (Muthu) - Hiccups
Rhythm songs : All have nature's elements Water, Fire, Wind, Breeze sounds in the respective songs like wind howling, waterfalls, fire sounds…
Chaiyya Chaiyya (Dilse) - Train sounds which were immortalized
Palakattu machanukku (May Madham) - Bottle opening sounds
Only you (Vande Maataram) - has gentle Thunder sound
Pettai rap (Kadhalan) - Crow croaks
Nenjam Ellam (AE)/Yuva) - Cash register sounds
Kichu Kichuta (Baba): TT ball being hit (again)
HHIPY (Kisna) - Birds & frogs sound
WOHE Title Track - Phone interference of a mobile.
Cyclist's Rhythm (Meenaxi) - Bicycle bell
    Kuluvalilay (Muthu) - Birds tweeting
Telephone Manipol (Indian) - Sounds of the traditional rice filter
    Hello (Gangmaster-telugu) - Phone ringing.
Oh Maria (Kadhalar Dhinam) - Internet dialup sound
Margarhe poove (May Madham) - Birds chirping & cricket (insect) sound.
Muqala Muqabla (Kadhalan) - Ping Pong balls being hit
Paathshala (RDB) - Popping sound of tennis ball being hit (or shot out of machine)
Tanha Tanha (Rangeela) - Sounds like a gadget which releases excess turbo pressure in sports cars. sounds like 'Whoosh', 'SSHHHSSHH'.
Konchum nilavu (TT) - Sounds of glass breaking.
Mukkaala Mukkabula (kadhalan) - Typewriter sound
Hey…Enna Aachu (KV) - Cellphone ring sound
Yen mel vizhuntha (May Madham) - Water droplet sound
Yeh Rishat (Meenaxi) - Water splash sound
Kichu Kichu (Baba) - Glass break effect - In the Re-recording, some Knife sound effects were used in a really cool way.
Jana Gana Mana (AE/Yuva) - Glass break effect
Baba - Bell sound also in TBB (RDB). The opening prayer song.
Unnodu Naan (Iruvar) cricket sound constantly in the background ...also there is a heavy thunder & rain sound as well as the sound of train passing by
Thoda Thoda (Indira) : Birds chirping in the prelude..
Title Track (Dil Se) - Many weird sounds
    Taal - Cold drinks
Sai Yai (Daud) - Lion (Animals) roaring sound
Raaga Dance (Taal) - Although it is musical, use of pots and pans for rhythmic percussion was very clever.
Thiruda Thiruda : "Kannum Kannum.." has voice beat box. Again rhythmical, but not necessarily a music instrument.

Hey, I started this thread in the ARR Yahoo group

    Khalbali (RDB)- car starting
Naalai Ulagam (Love Birds)- Dialing touchtone phone

Also, I think the train sounds in Chaiyya Chaiyya were done with musical instruments and not actual train sounds. I could be wrong though.

    Dragun :

Thanks a lot for the info. I compiled it. Keep going

    Lancy,

This thread is for NON Musical work & not without instruments. Even Rasathi (TT) doesnt have instruments.

Hear Please sir again (I observed it yday). U will find 4 voices repeating please sir(start) in just 4 secs one after the other echoing... like ghana ghanan (Lagaan) with diff voices. The humming & the melody is soothing in it... I love that bit song and apt lyrics for such situation.

Tu Ramta Jogi (Taal) - air blown over a bottle (something like a bisleri bottle) and looped.

i think u guyz may be mistaken that these sounds are completely non-instrumental. but i think many of these can be generated using a synthesizer or keyboard. for example the glass breaking sound in konjam nilavu can be done in keyboard. i think rahman used that only rather than holding a mike and breaking a glass.
