guys, the National award didn't give awards for the 'deserved' performance in Mahanadhi, Guna, Salangai oli (haven't seen Om puri's performance), 16 vayadhinile,etc..

Salangai oli won Asian International awards.

The important factor is, Kamal in spite of all the odds being the winner of highest number of national awards.

Kamal's performance in Pushpak lost out to another excellent acting by the protagonist in the film Piravi (the director Shaji N.Karun is a noted film maker and cinematographer from mallu world)

But still, Nadigar thilagam hasn't won a single award.

எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கு பாரத் பட்டம் வழங்கப்பட்ட சம்பவம் குறித்து மகத்தான சர்ச்சை கிளம்பியது. சிவாஜி நடித்து வெளியான புகழ்பெற்ற 'பா' வரிசை படங்களுக்கு மத்தியில் எம்.ஜி.ஆரின் 'ரிக்ஷாக்காரன்' படத்துக்காக அவ் விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது குறித்து எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கே நிச்சயம் அதிர்ச்சி இருந்திருக்கக் கூடும். அந்த விருது எப்படி அவருக்குக் கிடைத்தது என்பது குறித்து அந்த விருது கமிட்டியில் பங்கு பெற்ற (பெயர் சொல்ல விரும்பாத) ஒருவர் சமீபத்தில் விளக்கம் அளித்தார். விதி வலியது என்று நம்புகிறவர்களுக்குச் மிகச் சிறந்த உதாரணமாக அமைந்துவிட்டது அந்த நிகழ்ச்சி.

நடந்தது இதுதான்:-

கமிட்டியில் இந்த ஆண்டு தென்னிந்தியாவைச் சேர்ந்த ஒருவரைச் சிபாரிசு செய்யச் சொல்லிக் கேட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அந்த ஆண்டு பல சிறந்த படங்களைத் தந்த சிவாஜியின் பெயரைச் சொல்லத்தான் முனைந்தார் அந்த நபர். சற்றே பெயர் குழப்பமாக சிவாஜி என்று உச்சரிப்பதற்குப் பதிலாக ''எம்.ஜி.ஆருக்கு வழங்கலாம். ஏனென்றால் அவர்தான் இந்த ஆண்டு சிறந்த படங்களில் நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார்'' என்று கூறிவிட்டு அமர்ந்திருக்கிறார் அந்த உறுப்பினர். உடன் இருந்தவர்களுக்கெல்லாம் அதிர்ச்சி. ''யூ மீன் எம்.ஜி.ஆர்'' என்று கேட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். அப்போதுதான் சுதாரித்தார் அந்த கமிட்டி உறுப்பினர். இல்லை இல்லை நான் எம்.ஜி.ஆரைச் சொல்லவில்லை சிவாஜியைத்தான் சொல்ல நினைத்தேன். தவறுதலாக எம்.ஜி.ஆர் என்று சொல்லி விட்டேன் என்று கூறியிருக்கலாம் அவர். இந்த விஷயம் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். காதுகளுக்குப் போய் வீணாக அவருடைய விரோதத்தை எதற்காகச் சம்பாதிக்க வேண்டும் என்று ''ஆமாம் நான் எம்.ஜி.ஆரைத்தான் சொன்னேன்'' என்று கூறியிருக்கிறார். முதலிலேயே சிவாஜியின் பெயரைச் சொல்லியிருந்தால் பரவாயில்லை. எம்.ஜி.ஆரின் பெயரைச் சொல்லிவிட்டு பிறகு மாற்றுவதற்குத் தயக்கமாகிவிட்டது என்கிறார் அவர்.

cha...inda madiri ellam explanation/reason/excuse kudukuranga.. I don't think they can justify the 'blasphemy', Can they?

Actually, I can understand why they didn't award the likes of Bhim singh when Ray was in full flow! But surely, not awarding NT has put a black spot on National awards than on NT, I feel.
