Thevarams - The Historical Perspective.

yes viggop,, sri rudram is not going get us anywhere! It is all a waste of effort and time, sifting tons of dirt to get a gram of gold.

lets get on with Tamil thevarams.

Mr. Viggop - that's the reason why I neglected this thread - but I can't hold that any longer - the Thevaram discussion has to go on.

But, before I go on, I think I have to set a few things straight -

I have no intention to discuss the vedas or any sanskritic literature here. Posters can show some parellels there in the Sanskritic literature - but that has to be supported with dates and verses --no 'hearsay' - If they intent to show that 'this came from that'. I would appreciate that.

A few words will follow in reply to Mr Sitaraman - that will be all - I hope. I didn't want to - But I can't bear the itch no longer! Time to scratch.

Now we are at Thiruvaarur -- We will reach Kanchi soon!

It is considered as one of the 7 holy cities in India.The other are Ayodhya,Mathura,Kasi, Puri,Dwaraka,Avanthika(now called Ujjain)
