P.Leela passed away..

Really a shock news to hear PL amma is no more.

Recently I heared the songs
"Aasai konda nenjirandum pesugindra podu
aadatha silagalum aadaatho"

and

"Nenjil kudiyirukkum anbarukku naanirukkum
nilamai ennavendru theriyuma"

from 'Irumbuthirai'

No doubt, her songs are treasures.

May her soul rest in peace.

It's sad...She gave such a nice interview in `thendRal' during her recent visit to U.S.

I think MS had a musical show with her and PS recently in Atlanta too...(detailed posting in dhool.com)

Heart felt condolences to the bereaved family of P.Leela ..... a great singer of yesteryears..... countless numbers of melodious songs.... her voice was a perfect match for Nadigayarthilagam...

nenjil kudiyirukkum anbarakku ... is a masterpiece

She was very strong on carnatic music as well and has given some beautiful numbers .....

Was a leading singer along with PS for a long long time....

Another great personality... we have lost from film fraternity...

However, I think the thendRal interview was with P Leela...I need to check the old issues kept at home...

PLeela is one of the very few blessed, fortunate singers who had her golden, ringing voice intact till her last breath. It was a delight to watch her sing in recent TV shows with the same sweetness and expertise as she used to, decades ago.
"Nenjil kudiyirukkum" in Shanmugapriya enrum en nenjil kudiyirukkum.
