MAKKAL THILAGAM MGR !!!

Viziyay kadhai ezudhu is one of the best songs of MGR and its Yesudas's first song for Makkal thilagam...

I think Yesudas's first song for MGR was 'Thanga thoniyile' in USV.
Urimai kural and Naalai namadhe released after that only.

This is the first time I am posting in this thread.

In cine industry I have only 3 favourite persons.
1.MGR 2.Kamal 3.SPB.

all of them are UNIQUE persons.

He came to lime light after 1957(Nadodi mannan release time)at that time his age was 42. His age was 57 when he acted in USV(1972) and he died in 72(1987).

If you see NM, he looked like around 30.

NM's running time was 4 hours. But if you see the movie you won't get any tiredness at any place.

why don't you guys discuss about NM,Arasilangumari,kanchi thalaivan,Madurai veeran,kulebahavaalee etc.?

Besides,

Nadodee mannan was MG's own production I believe.

He had spent so much on to the making of this movie that he got scared at one point of time whether this will succeed !
There was an instance when the assistants approached Chakrapani for buying some ropes for an indoor scene and he shot back asking them in frustration ARE WE GOING TO COMMIT SUICIDE ?!
Finally when it got released in the old theatres in Chennai , Chakrapani , in disguise went to those theatres and found HUGE CROWDS GETTING GATHERED and got relieved

Nadodee mannan was MG's own production I believe.

Adimai pen also I think MGR's pictures.But directed by shankar which was also excellent movie.

Yes. Nadodee mannan was MGR's own production. This movie was made with a huge budget. At that time of that movie's production, there was a saying. If the movie becomes a hit MGR will be the Mannan else he will be Nadodee.
The result of the movie was well known. And also MGR become the Mannan of Cine Industry for a long period thereafter.

You are right....

NM was a landmark movie for MGR and it totally changed the course of his career...

This movie also featured 2 heroenes...first half banumathy and second half, the grand introduction of Abinaya saraswathi Saroja Devi
You will note that Saroja devi will look very young in that movie....

All the songs were super hits ..including the famous one ...THOONGAAADHEY THAMBI THOONGADHEY...

Nadodi Mannan was one of my MGR's favourite movie directed by Makkal thilagam itself.

What a great movie it is. The song THOONGAAADHEY THAMBI THOONGADHEY is also one of my favourites.

MGR directed only 2 movies Nadodi Mannan and Ulagam Sutrum Vaaliban and both are super hits
