Time to revisit the post. Hope fully I am wise by 3 years.

Al Pacino - Easily the actor with the most demanding screen presence of our time. After watching The Godfather films multiple times I believe no one could have done that role. Short only in stature but a giant in histrionics. The only actor who could kiss a guy and still make it look terrorizing. If only he had done more films. Best acting moment would be crying over his dead girl in Godfather 3. Best Film : The godfather 1

Robert De Niro: Quiet simply the most versatile actor living or dead in any time to my knowledge. Set standards for actors to follow across the globe. The dedication shown as Jake La Motta . I wished he had an earlier debut. Fav acting Moment - The russian roulette scene in Vietnam from The Deer Hunter. Best Film: Gf-2/Taxi

Tom Hanks: Incredible, Charismatic and always a pleasure to watch. Brings out performances that arrests viewers across all ages. Second to None he works like a charm. Thank heavens he diverted to Dramas in the 90's.

    Best Film: Saving Private ryan.
Fav acting Moment: There's no crying in baseball from A league of thier own.

Jack Nicholson: An actor of a kind. Can't be put in any category. Very unique. Has evolved a lot from the Shining to the departed.

Fav acting Moment: Court room scene in A few Good men.

Kevin Spacey: Recently watched American Beauty. Lester Burnham is an American Class act.

    Honorable Mentions: Brad Pitt/Dicaprio/Johnny Depp/RDJ

Haven't seen enough of Brando to form an opinion but from GF1/A Street car named Desire and Apocalypse now must be surely among the top rack.

Actors I'd watch even if they are just reading off a phone book.
    Eastwood
    Brando
    Newman
    Cagney
    Bogart

Actors I'd watch without scenes of them reading off a phone book
    Olivier
    De Niro
    Pacino
    Redford
    Lemmon
    Connery
    Peck
Russell (with and without eye patch)
    Schwarzenegger (Post Conan. Please)

Actor I'd watch and no worries about phone book coz they are mostly silent.
    Chaplin
Keaton (Buster, mate, Michael is somewhere down)

    Actors depending on film/co-star
    Grant
    Holden
    Caine
    Heston

Actors I thought were awesome but now just meh...maybe one day they bounce back.
    Crowe
    Spacey

    Actor/Scriptwriter/Director/Producer
    Talaivar up there already
    Allen
    Brooks (not Albert)
    Redford
    Welles
    Special mention.
Charles Bronson as supporting role in those war/western films.
Hackman. Too awesome for a lead, Too powerful for a support. Did too many crappy films, but retired honorably

    Special Honorary Mention
    Groucho Marx

    TV
    Mark Harmon (NCIS)
Tom Selleck (Magnum PI, The Jesse Stone TV movies)
Most of the voice artists of Cartoon Network shows.

    Yes, I am a sexist.

jackie chan - the first hollywood actor I was introduced in my schol days.. dont remember that I have seen any other's movies for a long time...all in VCRs..

then came Men of Honour - Robert De Niro t he first film which I was bowled over.. followed by Meet the Parents.. became a fan of De Niro then..
other fav films I can remember now : Taxi driver & the all time best Once upon a time in America...

Then came Godfather - Pacino took over. The Insider, scent of a woman, Dogday afternoon and Justice for all are my favourites..

    Few other favourites:
Russel crowe - Beautiful Mind, Gladiator and even the Cindrealla man..
Bogart for Casablanca ( the only movie I have seen of him)..
Travolta - Face Off and Broken Arrow..

    Actresses:
    Bergman for Casablanca
    Drew Barrymore - Charlie's Angels
walk the line Heroine.. some witherstone right?
Catherine Zeta zones .. etc etc.. this list goes on
Come back strong.. Come back soon..

Which movie ? La haine (Hate) or Sheitan or Dobermann or ... some recent movies. I have watched mostly all of his movies. Have you seen "Black Swan" ?

I see many people mentioning "Russel Crowe". I am interested to hear in which particular scenes he had performed (without saying that the movie is overall excellent).
I would like to revisit these scenes ....

In "A Beautiful Mind" - the way he expresses about the girl he has met to his imaginatory friend.
The scene at the university - when his colleagues appreciate him with placing a pen on the table for his achievement (winning the nobel prize)
his voice modulation and subtle expressions when he delivers the speech at the nobel awards ceremony

There are many scenes - I think you should revist the entire flick. paathuttE irukkalaam - he was such a treat to watch in that movie - the one that would remain as one of my all time favourite movies ever.
