Just read it this morning and wanted to share somewhere. Beautiful !

That is Mahabali rejecting Sukracharyar's warning to not donate to Vamanan. He says "if he indeed is the Lord and I am in a position to donate to him, what else can I ask for."

..as to How much... I am a Gentleman of high Calibre ?

We gain Pleasure in receiving some Gift from others...

...as also another sort of Pleasure... by Giving Gift to Others too.!

"Which sort of Pleasure is more for me ? ... In Giving or Getting ?

... I should ask myself and SELF-EVALUATE true to my Conscience.

If my sincere evaluation is that....

.... GIVING TO OTHERS... FETCHES GREATER PLEASURE to me...

...than Getting from Others...

..then I am a true Gentleman of high calibre.

So thought Mahabali Chakravarthi... who could have gained Pleasure by securing Indra's Throne...

...after surreptitiously avoiding to give Dhaanam to Vaamana somehow.

But such a pleasure was a Cheap one... Not worthy for a Chakravarthi of high Human- calibre

But he could feel highly elated, proud and HONOURED to give Dhaanam...

...right to the Supreme Giver God Himself famous for showering greatest Generosity...

...which sort of Honour--- Nobody else could gain until then !

Thus Mahabali has become GREATER than God Vamana in one way !

Whereas Indra's throne may be an honour to secure... but not a great status to be managed for long...

...NOR PEACEFUL in the long run

So knowingly Mahabali preferred to gain the rare honour of GREATEST PLEASURE IN GIVING...

..THAN TAKING Indra's status.

Consequently Mahabali is highly graced as the Eternal Emperor of Paathaalha Loka

..and is greatly honoured by Keralites annually on the day of Onam Festival
