Both of them had a so called action story.
The only difference between them was their directors.
So, if Ghilli is good then it's because of it's director Dharani.
So the credit goes to the director who brought out the talent in vijay.

ARR,
Yeah, But as far as Vijay's movies go, I like Ghilli, that too not for Vjiay, just for Dharani.

Roshan - Ayutha Ezhuthu was a good study of the need for a new wave of young Indians to take over from the Ghandian old guards!! That was a very good point the Director/Writer made!!
I agree with most of what you said. But as for Madhavan's character I understood him pretty well!! He's the epitome of a lot of misled young rebels who believe anything is possible if one lives by the sword!! It was the only means to an end!! With the kind of brutish stupidity and mule-headedness, he was indeed the perfect target to be used by sharper minds. Like the politician who played him like a fiddle!! He was the Rod that others wielded!!
It was precisely what his wife saw in him, all that raw anger and brute force, but lacking any real perception of the recurring trap he kept walking into!! His come-uppance at the end of the movie was fitting! What he never realised in a survival of the fittest test, was how dispensable he really was in the bigger picture!! Gangsters come and go like a dime a dozen.

AE is one of the best Mani Rathnam movies that I've seen. The only flaw that I could see in the movie is Trisha's charecter. It seemed pretty unrealistic.
Please correct me if I"m worng.

I agree Surya!!! Apart from Meera Jasmine's role, the others were mere embellishment!! Hardly crucial to the development of the plot!

well I liked Maddy's role because i found myself always second-guessing his motives...i had seen him as a good guy for so long that i could not get myself to agree that he would be so ruthless...this of course only added to the entertainment value of that movie...and of course Surya had a minimal role which could have been so much more...but really i also loved Bharathyraja's role as a politcian..because again an unexpected view of a different character...besides that everyone else were instruments in moving plot along..though some did well like Meera others like Trisha and especially Esha Deol did not...again of course this is my pov...all in all im glad that movie was made because it was great to watch
yeah Surya Mahanadigan was hilarious...though it looks like not everybody shares his wit....i also got to watch Attagasam..been a while since i fully enjoyed a Ajith film

Nirosha,
Yeah. Esha, espicially was quite unwanted. Guess they just needed a pretty face for Surya. Maddy's role was great, Barathiraja did a wonderful job as a tamil politician.
Querida,
Attagasm is the saviour for Ajith's career.
I like the Mirror in the Auto sceen. It was funny.

Ghilli,
Sorry to say this, but the songs in Thripaachi suck!! Nothing compared to Ajith's Attagassam.
Just joking, but the songs are dissappointing in Thirupaachi.
