Padmanabha Dasa Uthradam Tirunal Marthanda Varma has authored SAMARPANAM-a commentary on Vishnu Sahasranamam occuring in the Anusasanika Parva of Mahabharata. The4 book was released on 1th of July by Udupi Madathipathi at the Levee Hall of the Krishna Vilasam Palace.
His Highness Marthanda Varma says-" There are various sahasranamams and the foremost is Vishnu Sahasranamam. Many great scholars have written exhaustive commentaries on his stotra-the major works are by Adi Sankara, Parasara Bhatta, Swami Chinmayananda. This humble attempt is to give each name in English and illustrate it with a suitable quotation from any of the ancient scriptures like Upanishads, Gita, Bhagavatha , Ramayana, karnamrutha and Mukundamala. I have highlighted another Vishnu Sahasranama occuring in Garuda Purana-which is quite diffrent from the we found in Mahabharata"
