"One of the great innovators in contemporary Indian cinema, he helped introduce the auteur concept to contemporary Bollywood. Ratnam's movies display precision and poise, and have always been removed from the bombast and bluster of mass-produced regional cinema," said Mueller

What comes as a surprise is Suhasini's admission, "Mani is very romantic."
Just thought about it. Don't read too much into it.

I just wanted to tell the hub that I did not make up that statement. It was true statement and it was probably the reason for why all MR movies so romantic.

Recently Anandha Vikatan re-published “ Mouna Ragam “ review in its “ Pokkisham “ section. It was a very disappointing and insipid review. Just a blunt description about the outline of the story, the characters etc., and there was not a single praiseworthy statement about the music, performances (except Divya’s character) or about the technical aspect.

Surely, Mouna Ragam was a trend setting film for its technical abilities and I know many friends and relatives who were just crazy about the film. I don’t know if it is right to say that only after MR, technicians like PC Sreeram, Thotta tharani, Lenin-Vijayan & even Mani Ratnam, for that matter, not only gained prominence but also achieved star status. Surprisingly the review carried not a single word about these eminent personalities !!

Finally, to my great dismay, I couldn’t find a single word about Karthik !!!!!
