    Songs Choreographed Well

    This year so far:

    Thirupachi - Nee Entha Ooru
    Ji - Vambu
    Raam - Boom Boom

    Years Past:
    Kadhalan (all)
    Mr Romeo - Romeo Attam
    Love Birds - Sambha Sambha
    Minsara Kanavu - Vennilave Vennilave
    Thirumalai - Thamathaka
    Gilli - Appadi Podu
Gentlemen - Chikku Bukku (changed choreography as we know it in tamil films today)
    Boys - Saregame
    12b - Love Pannu
    Kadhal Konden - Thottu Thottu
    KanduKonden x 2 - All songs
    Thirudha Thirudha - Veerapandi Kottaiyilai
    Indian - patriotic song
    Alai Payuthey - Pachai Nirame
Aiyatha Ezhuthu - Yakkai Thiri & Jana Gana Mana
M.Kumaran - Chennai Senthamizh & First song in movie
    Mounam Pesiyudhe - Adatha Attam

In my opinion as far as stars are concerned:
Prabhu Deva,Lawrence, Vijay, & Jayam Ravi are good to watch

    As far as directors:
Mani Ratnam,Shankar, Rajiv Menon & Ameer take time with making their songs watchable

Songs in shankar and Manirathnam films have excellent choreography. All songs in 'Mudalvan' and 'alai Payuthe' stand out, in my opinion.

If I may add on irritating choreography as well, I simply hate those Bharathi Raaja songs with white angels dancing around the couples!! How unnatural!!

Having group dancers around is an important phenomenon in Tamil films nowadays. But barathiraja type angels are irritating I agree I have a number of favourites when it comes to choreography. I usually enjoy songs without group dancers around. Of recent movies I loved the song sequence of 'ding dong kOvil maNi' in 'Ji'. Very pleasant , soothing and different. Let me try to give some of my favourites.

1.Chippi irukkuthu muththu irukkuthu - vaRumaiyin niRam sivappu - kamal/sridevi

    2. poongkaatRu un pEr solla kEttEnE inRu - vetri vizha - Kamal/amala

    3. vaanam enna keezhirukku boomi enna mEl irukku - kamal/prabhu - vetRi vizha (prabhu with his bulky body does a superb jot almost equal to Kamal)

    4. nee oru kaadhal sangeetham - naayagan - kamal/saranya

    5. anthi mazhai mEgam thanga mazhai thoovum - kamal and group- naayagan - excellent work by camera man P C Sriram

    6. kaattukuyilu manasukuLLa paattukkenRum panjamilla - rajini/mammootty - thaLapathy

    7. adi raakkammA kaiyya thattu - Rajini/shobana and co - thaLapathy

    8. Ooooo lallallaa - kajol/nasar/prabhudeva - minsara kanavu - the song that makes me dance every time I see .

    9. ninnukkOri varNam - amala/prabhu - agni natchathiram

    10. rambambam aarambam - kamal/kushboo - mmk raajan

    11. santhana thenRalai - ajith/thabu and co - kanukondEn2

    12. sollaamal thottuchchellum thenRal - ajith - deena ( ajith lip-sync is great here)

    13. sOnA ei sOnA I love you love you da - ajith/simran/jothika - vaali

    14. uppu karuvaadu oora vechcha sORu - arjun/manisha koirala - mudhalvan - (again the camera work was excellent here.)

    15 pachchai niRamE pachai niRamE - maadavan/shalini - alaipAyuthE ( superb cinematography)

    More to come ...

Salangoli - the song over the well when kamal is drunk simply superb.

There is a movie on classical dance with a little boy who dances on a plate and his feet start to bleed.Anyone know which movie this was?I watched it when i was like iono 5ish?which was abt 15 years ago.Dont know if the movie was new then.I believe Kamal was in it not sure.

    From Alaipayuthe, I like "Yaaro"

    "Paartha Vizhi" from Guna.

    "Rakamma..." Thalapathi.

"Viru Virumaandi (Andha Kandhamani)" - Virumaandi.

    more later.........

One more example for most irritating choreography- Pani vizhum Malarvanam- Karthik and GG were dancing like robots and completely spoiled a very romantic song. So is the case with another melody - Poove, sempoove, un vaasam varum- Radharavi singing the song with a mike and the heroine dancing around - cant they think of something that fits better with the tune and lyrics?
