jn mam: oru vishayam. very recently I got a cassette from my friend, which contained some good old songs rendered by PS, PL, JR, Jikki alongwith some upcoming singers. It was released in 1992-93. In that album, I listened to the sottu sottu-nnu paaru inge song. It was digital recorded, sung by PS. To my surprise, the male singer was Krishnaraj (Deva's disciple) who sang veLLarikka pinju veLLarikka. He sang very well. Of course, PS too sang well though the ageing was very evident in her voice. Have you lisened to it?

SN23: I haven't listened to the cassette you mentioned. I have the original song.
sImaan means rich person.
May be the spelling confused you.
rain is puring like the words of a rich person scolding a poor man,"Fool, do you have brain?".
appadiye literalaa translate paNNirukken.
muttaap payale = muttaaL payale (fool, stupid)
mULai = brain
dhuttu(kaasu) padaichcha sImaan = wealthy person
aLLik kottuRa vaarththai pOle = saththamaa thitradhaip pOla.
mudhaLaali thozhilaaLiyaip paathu pada pada nu thitraappale mazhai peyyudhu nu kavinjar solraar.
