The last film for TGL was Kadavul Maama, which I had not included in the list.

Manisegaran: Isn't KKD's music by both TGL & Hemant Kumar - enthan ullam's is lifted from Nagin (Vyjayantimala & Pradeep Kumar/Hemant Kumar/Rajinder Krishan?) There are 2 back to back songs in the climax and this is the second song showing V descending to Earth.
TGL composed for devotional albums in later years - I picked up a couple in India. So did S Rajeswara Rao & V Kumar. As has IR whose latest non-film score is "The Secret of the Ramayana."

I saw Muradan Muthu last week. Thamaraipoo Kulatthile was the only one I had heard before. That song flows so easily! Not so famous songs like Chevvandhip Poo Pola etc. are very nice to hear. I dont know why a person with TGLs track record didnt do music for more movies.

Manisegaran: you get to watch such great movies all the time, being in MY and have great shops like Janani Music House (several people referred me there, but it was closed since I visited KL on Sunday afternoon).
pg: IR is ilaiyaraja. You didn't know this and are discussing tamil film music
I'll report once I've had a chance to listen to it. It sounds like some kind of audio book with background music & songs by IR.

Am listening to 'sangam muzhangivarum' Best of TR Mahalingam Vol 2 which has 2 songs from ennaippaar (1961) with music by TGL, both are duets by TRM and S Janaki -
ethirkondu, kaatchiyum nee thaan.
Get this album if you see it - it has some very nice songs like 'o jegamathil inbam' from Mohanasundaram (TRM, S Varalakshmi) etc. There is even a close relative of 'paattukku paatteduthu' from padagOtti - kannirendum ondrai ondru paarkka mudiyumaa?

Kishore:
pg-yidam ippadi kEtpadhu nyaayamaa? I think he has
great interest in non-filmy works of IR. He (or
anyone in this forum) has not heard about the Ramayana book you are talking about! That's why
I think he asked "who that IR is".
kannirendum ondrai ondru is a close relative
of pAttukku pAtteduththu? I think you are
talking about the TRM solo in 'amudhavalli'.
Though VR were the MDs for both movies, I don't
think the two songs have any closeness.
