எம்.ஜி.ஆர் அவர்களுக்கு பாரத் விருது தரப்பட்டபோது முதல் ஆளாக முன்னின்று விழா எடுத்தவர் நடிகர் திலகம்.
எம்.ஜி.ஆர். அவர்களுக்கு உலகம் சுற்றும் வாலிபன் திரையரங்கில் திரையிட சிக்கல் ஏற்பட்ட போது முதல் ஆளாக தன் சாந்தி திரையரங்கில் திரையிட முன் வந்தவர் நடிகர் திலகம்.
எம்.ஜி.ஆர். அவர்கள் முதன் முறையாக பொதுத் தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட்ட போது தான் சார்ந்த காங்கிரஸ் இயக்கத்தின் சார்பாக அவருக்கு முழு மூச்சுடன் ஒத்துழைப்புத் தந்தவர் நடிகர் திலகம். 1977ல் நடைபெற்ற அந்த பாராளுமன்றத் தேர்தலில், அது வரை எலியும் பூனையுமாக ஊடகங்களால் சித்தரிக்க்ப்பட்டிருந்த இருவரும் ஒன்றாய் அரசியல் மேடையில் தோன்றியது வரலாறு படைத்த நிகழ்வாகும்.
எம்.ஜி.ஆர். உடல் நலம் குன்றி உயிருக்கு போராடியபோது குடும்பத்தோடு ஆலயங்களிலும், தேவாலயங்களிலும் மசூதியிலும் குடும்பத்தோடு தொழுது, அவர் குணமடைய இறைவனை வேண்டியவர் நடிகர் திலகம்.
எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலாக எம்.ஜி.ஆர். அவர்கள் தன் கடைசி காலத்தில் அவரிடம் முக்கியமான ஒரு பொறுப்பை ஒப்படைக்க இருந்தார். அது என்னவென்று தெரியாவிட்டாலும், அதனை நாகரீகமாக மறுத்து விட்டார் நடிகர் திலகம். என்றாலும் அவருக்குப் பின் அவருடைய இயக்கத்திற்கு உறுதுணையாக, அவருடைய துணைவியாரும் தன் உடன் பிறவா சகோதரியுமான ஜானகி அம்மையாருக்கு ஆதரவளிப்பதாக எம்.ஜி.ஆரிடம் உறுதியளித்து, அதற்காக தான் பல ஆண்டுகளாக சார்ந்து உழைத்த இயக்கத்தையும் விட்டு வெறியேறி தியாகம் புரிந்தவர் நடிகர் திலகம்.

நட்பு என்பதற்கு உண்மையான சிறந்த அடையாளம் இதுவே.

காணும் நிழற்படம் சென்னை தியாகராய நகர் பனகல் பூங்காவில் நடைபெற்ற காங்கிரஸ்-அ.தி.மு.க. கூட்டணி பிரச்சார மேடையில் எம்.ஜி.ஆர். அவர்களும் நடிகர் திலகமும் ஒன்றாய் பிரச்சாரம் செய்ய வந்திருந்தபோது எடுத்தது.

This whole week we celebrate as the prideful fathers' week!!

தாயிற் சிறந்த கோவிலுமில்லை தந்தை சொல் மிக்க மந்திரமில்லை

Nothing can ever replace the Mother's love and affection right from the womb till the tomb!!

Fathers on the other hand have the inherent love for their children but in a coherent way with a measured mix of affection as well as strictness so that the children should be groomed in the right track bringing laurels to their parents. The phase of education till employment is taken care by the father without exhibiting his turmoil in earning money through hard work for the ultimate benefit of his children. Quite often the children do not realize the Lion's share of behind curtain difficulties and perils of life a father gets succumbed to in bringing up his wards to the satisfaction of their goals or his dreams coming true!!

The hard working sacrificing father characterisations have been brought to our eyes best exemplified and conceptualized on big screen by the two doyens of Tamil cinema Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan (Motor Sundaram Pillai and Vaazhkkai to be more specific) and kaadhal Mannar Gemini Ganesan (Ramu and Vellivizha to be more specific) as down to the earth performances rather than the larger than life depictions as part of histrionics!! We love and respect these two model fathers on screen who taught us the significance of love and respect to our fathers and forefathers too!! We salute the doyens.....with these nostalgia!!
