    Here's the deal .. movies released then had the luxury of parallel releases of top stars without interference as they had their own space - theaters that would host them of 150-100-200 days etc. if needed. They could still all end up hits or better. Situation now is very different .. the current day movies releases try to saturate the market space for a shorter time and hope for their break even quicker like in a week/2weeks. They would try to achieve hit/bb status in a month or couple of months. Multiple releases of big stars simultaneously would seriously jeopardize that plan. Eg. releasing Ajith and Vijay movies together will seriously affect both movies ..

    in 80s, Aboorva Sagotharargal and Karakaattakkaaran released and both were Mega Blockbusters, both ran parallely without affecting other movies. Karakaattakkaaran was a Mega BB withn TN and AB was a Mega BB at TN, AP, KErala Karnataka North and Also Oveseas. In short, its a Global BB! Another actor's 3 movies released and departed theaters in btw the time span AB Ran!

    Of course such a situation is surely not present now. Movie BO Dynamics hae heavily changed.

    So be it! But...It never affected BO power of "that actor" those days despite "your claim" that his movies did not do well in that short time-frame. Because it was a time only two actors dominated Tamil cinema and they had their own strong fan-base. Not many became bankrupt as the producers were rich enough to manage their loss. But today, the movie business seems to be worse than gambling.
    This is a very big world!

    1) 3 movies beaten by one single movie is not a normal feat!

    2) no star can affect another star, only poor scripts chosen by a star will affect him. no external factors.
