Kuruthipunal was critically acclaimed and hit commercially. It ran very well in Coimbatore area. At one point of time, it was expected to beat Muthu. But, ladies didn't like the movie. The boys loved it and was talk of the town for long time.

I entered the theatre with big Sprite cup ..before movie started I chipped quarter of it ..Then after the movie ended only i realise , i forgot the drink ..and throw away .

KP was a hit - to put it in the language of some hubbers - a 'sleeper' hit nu venumnaa vachukkunga - it ran to packed houses in Devi, Mt Road for at least two months that I recall
