Karthi, Lakshmi Menon team up for Komban

Actor Karthi is all set to begin shooting for his next film, which will be directed by Kutti Puli director Muthaiah. The film's shooting will start in the second week of June. Titled Komban, the film is set in Ramanathapuram, and has Lakshmi Menon playing the female lead. While Rajkiran has been cast in an important role, talks are on with Yuvan Shankar Raja to compose the music.

A source says, "After his debut film Paruthiveeran, this is the second time that Karthi will be sporting a typical rural getup. The film will begin rolling in Ramanathapuram, and will be shot there entirely. Karthi has already started working on his look for the film, which has an action-oriented script. It will mostly be a start-to-finish schedule. While Yuvan is most likely to join the crew, the other details are being firmed up now."

Meanwhile, Karthi has almost completed shooting for Madras with Atta Kathi Ranjith, and hasEnni Ezhu Naal with Lingusamy in his kitty.

Karthi sports handlebar moustache for Komban
Karthi seems to be in a mood to change his look for each and every film of his. He was spotted in a handlebar moustache and beard at the audio launch of his upcoming film. We hear that he will be sporting this look for his next film, Komban, directed by Muthiah.

"I was bored of doing similar kind of roles at one point of time. I was looking for change of roles," said Karthi at the event. The actor was seen in a same look in five films in a row, from Paiyaa toAlex Pandian. It was first in Biriyani that he tried an urban look, with contact lens in his eyes. He sports a French beard in Madras and now, this handlebar mush for Komban.

A source in the know says, "The shoot for Komban has already started and Karthi will soon join the shoot. The entire film will be shot in Ramanathapuram district. Karthi's new look is for his rural avatar in the film. He wanted to keep this look a secret until the release of the film but he could not hide it as he had to attend the audio launch function of his other film. The actor, who had lost a couple of kilos for his role, Kaali, in Madras has also put on weight for this rural role."
