Check the opening day collections of the so called flop lingaa and compare it with any of the recent movies including his so called competitor's movie...That will speak volumes about the value of Rajini, the star....

Check the webspace, for the number of articles, tweets, fb posts on the speculations of his next movie, that will show the Magnetism of 64 old superstar. The count can easily overtake the number of reviews of his competitor's recent movie.

Excluding the group of intellectuals, check the reaction among the general audience about his competitor's recent movie , his fans will have reason only to laugh and definitely not to vaitherichify...

More than all these factors, the fear, sarcasm and hate in the above post clearly depicts the status of superstar.....

If Shankar comes up with a bad content, even his movie would flop. If Ranjith or even a newbie to industry comes up with a good content, it will be a hit. Stars are like the distribution network a company has. A company might have distribution network throughout the world but if the product quality is bad, then the distribution network cannot be blamed.

This is what I have to say on this - with everything being the same (content, director, MD, heroines etc.), Rajini will certainly pull in more in the box office than anybody else at the moment. We cant compare a move like Lingaa and Kaththi ..

.. we need to compare blockbusters of both heroes or flops of both. Cant mix up for our convenience. Eg. Endhiran vs. Kaththi (or I) - Endhiran grossed far more than either (actually any tamil movie) Or. Lingaa vs. Sura/billa2 - Lingaa grossed much more than either. Or a hypothetical scenario of anybody in place of Rajini in Endhiran - would it have grossed 300C in the box office ?? I dont think so .. There's no denying that Rajini's is still at top.
