    Kannada film

One more great loss for the Kannada Film industry on 18th January 2010. The demise of Dr. K S Ashwath, who is well known for his supporting Characters as, brother, father, friend, teacher, doctor etc., in more than 370 films starting from ‘Sthreeratna’. His memorable contribution as a teacher (Chamayya Mestru) in Puttanna Kanagal’s film ‘Nagara haavu’, who was a mentor of that angry student ‘Ramachari’ (Dr.Vishnuvardhan) is still remains in the minds of viewers of the film. He was a person of self respect, punctual, prompt, and devoted to his profession.
Before joinging the film world, he worked as ‘Food Inspector’ in the state government for 10 years. As mentioned by Director Shri Joe Saiman in an interview, Mr. Ashwath was not a greedy person; when he was offered Rs. 100 by the producer, Mr. Ashwath took Rs. 75.50 as a remuneration for a film, which includes bus fare from Mysore to Bangalore, the balance was returned to producer.
May his soul rest in peace.
Here is one video clip of Mr. Ashwath in action as ‘Narada’ from the film ‘Mahishasura Mardhini’ singing ‘narayana vanamali’.

yes Mr.aswath's performance in Nagara haavu. In tamil, Major sundarrajan did that but he couldnt match up to Mr.Aswath's performance.

    It's indeed a great loss.
