Finally, A Rahman is definitely the finest music composer in
Bollywood at the moment. And here record sales are not the criterion
for saying that. Even Altaf Raja can sell a crore copies of `Tum To
There Pardesi'. The criterion is the union of commercial viability
and unmistakable virtuosity as a genius.
ALL tamilans should read this article & know the diff between ARR & the poochis [ HJ,YSR,etc etc] !
Well said, Dinesh. I hate such idiots who compare thalaivar with HJ, YSR, etc..

I think the article is referring to bollywood more...and as for HJ and YSR stuff...even if they do compare, the originality and overall orchestration of ARR songs can thrash HJ and YSR songs to bit..even though i like YSR

yea man..thats wut...imagine a much bigger industry can appriciate ARR more.... y cant his own industry appriciate more ??? the situation is pretty much same... not a big diff, infact Bollywood is more wellknown and popular worldwide....and he is apriciated there !!!but NO in Tamil industry, ARR gets trashed by saying " HJ have provided more hits & more simple but catchy tune " , "ARR has lost his magic..."
a good example from a clown website, dun wanna mention which...but when GF audio released, they rave about the songs, but once the movie released " ARR has composed medicore songs for this film " ......

ok guys...clarifications on Lord of War (Nicholas Cage) movie...where ARR's Bombay Theme music is used.
The movie is currently being aired on Star Movies....
so I watched is yesterday and have checked through the credit scroll at the end to see if ARR is being credited.
Well, the good news is YES AR Rahman has been credited for that piece. But they mentioned the tune as "Mumbai Theme" tune (Bombay-the city was renamed remember!)....
With the following caption
"Written/Performed by AR Rahman"....
so there you go!....

Anand,
Deva has been in the industry since 80s. He perhaps kept a low profile all through his career apart from his occasional hits. I dont think he was selective about his films or anything. Deva is still composing, I think he doesnt charge a lot. He recently did 'Solli Adippen' too.
HJ doesnt get as many movies as Deva did. He hardly composes 2/3 movies a year and neither did he shoot to fame like ARR/IR did.
Paani bhujaye pyaas, baaki sab bakwaas. Clear hai ?

The 79th Academy Awards or the Oscar Awards are getting underway. Nominations for original song category for full length feature films are announced. There are fifty six songs from films belonging to different languages and country. These songs have been considered for the prestigious award. Out of these, our own Rahman's three songs are featuring in the list.
A R Rahman
They are 'Khalbali' and 'Luka Chuppi' from "Rang de Basanti" and 'Chan Chan' from "Water".
When contacted to inquire about the news, A.R.Rahman expressed happiness over the nomination and said that it was the collective effort and hard work of RDB team that is paying off rich dividends. "I also thank my fans for all their wishes", added the maestro. He has his fingers crossed on the outcome.
It is indeed a great honor for every Indian and more so every Tamilian that Rahman has elevated Indian music to world arena. Some of the other songs include 'Coming back to you' from "Deja Vu", 'You know my name" from "Casino Royale" the James Bond film and 'The song of the heart" from "Happy Feet". Wishing Rahman all the best!!!
