A.R.Rahman still not paid fully for Mangal Pandey

A.R.Rahman has been making his presence felt since the last few months with the music of The Rising and Rang De Basanti being greatly appreciated. However, surprisingly, the musician has still not been fully paid for his work in The Rising. It seems that only 15% of the amount due has been paid to Rahman. He received 10 lakhs which was to be paid to the Prague Orchestra. Considering that it was a big film, Rahman left no stone unturned to ensure that the quality of music is good.

After the release of the film, producer Bobby Bedi had said in a television interview that he had recovered the entire money invested in the film. Rahman is extremely selective about the work that he does. And he does not want to get cheated on the few projects that he does. Producer Bobby Bedi was not aware that there was any amount due. He stated that a lot of money had already been paid.

If reports are true, A M Ratnam will be making a movie with Pawan Kalyan in the director’s chair. Pawan, basically a hero, is not new to direction . He has already worked on flicks like Johnny and Kutumba Shankar. Scripting the story himself, Pawan plans to bring P C Sriram behind the camera and A R Rahman to score the music. Rathnam, Pawan, Sriram and Rahman—the combination is deadly man!

A R Rahman is WorldSpace's new Brand ambassador

WorldSpace, India's only digital satellite radio service has roped in A R Rahman as their brand ambassador. Rahman will now produce a WorldSpace promotional song and also endorse its products.

Says Shishir Lall, Managing Director of WorldSpace India that they are delighted to team up with a musical genius like Rahman who is world renowned for his works. On the other hand, Rahman is also very pleased to be associated with a service like WorldSpace which believes in providing extensive music of various genres to its audiences.

This will be the second time that A R Rahman is going to endorse a brand nationally. Prior to this, he had done a similar endorsement for Airtel. He had also produced a theme music for the brand. Let's hope that the man does that magic again but this time for WorldSpace.
