Good decision of playing with 5 bowlers, but binny as a frontline ?? Ashwin should have been the ideal choice..

    Good start Monk

Initially looked like Stuart Binny was a good choice with English conditions.

But looking at the slow nature of the surface, the commentators are now pointing out maybe Ashwin should have played.

Overall 106/1 @ lunch first day of a series is a good effort.

Anderson to Vijay, OUT, angling back in and struck high on the pad... given by Bruce Oxenford! Vijay immediately resorts DRS looks rather forlornly at the umpire and the drags himself away for a magnificent 146. That looked high to me at first glance, actually hit the thigh pad - though Oxenford could perhaps be forgiven for thinking that no delivery was going to pass over the stumps on this pitch

Ali to Jadeja, SIX, pick that out! Tossed up and mullered back down the ground, straight and long and all the way for six

    114.5
Ali to Jadeja, SIX, tossed up, nice and juicy and again dispatched with aplomb beyond the boundary ropes, got his front foot out and hit clean through the line and down the ground
