Much as I adore his works I have to say he is out of form. His work in Anniyan wasn't a patch on Mudhalvan. Silvia is dragging, the jokes fall flat and the mystery just isn't there (he has left with a hook this week though). Its been long since I thoroughly enjoyed a Sujatha serial.
Even his Kumudham column has turned into an En-Edharku-Eppidi. But less enjoyable (the quoted answer was the nest in the last 2-3 weeks).
He answers very googleable questions about science. That was not how it started. The column does not do justice to his variety. He gets to pick the questions so I don't understand why he is restricting himself.
I am waiting for Silvia to end so he can get back to Katradhum Petradhum.

I am bad at remembering Ganesh-Vasanth thriller names. The last interesting one was one concerning a TV actress and a tamil serial writer. That was in 2001/02 I guess. His earlier (80s) stories are much better.
Sujatha wields many pens. Those who know him through the breezy tone of 'Katradhum Petradhum' will be surprised to find him poignant in plays such as Oonjal and popular short stories like 'Guruprasadin Kadaisi Dhinam'.
I rate him as a superior short story-writer. 'Appavin Austin', 'ViLimbu', 'Nijathai thEdi', 'kANOm' etc are some personal favourites that come to my mind immediately.
Two editions of Sujatha's selected short stories have been published by Uyirmmai recently. Quite cheap (hardbound editions Rs. 200 with each around 40 stories). If you like Sujatha and want to read more of him I think that'd be the best place to start.

Prabhu Ram,
I have to agree with you on the recent serials. Just dragging. Maybe he is fed up. (He sort of admitted is one katradhum episode.)
I find Q&A ok though. I would say Google-able/EncycLook-able is more serious an issue for Madhan Badhilgal which almost looks like cut&paste.

VENKIRAJA,
Tell us more about your likes, dislikes. Then we can suggest better.
If you like Ganesh-vasanth murder mysteries, I would suggest to check out all his early day novels right from Nylon Kayiru. Barring a few, each will have something for you.

Sujatha's thoondil kathaigaL started in Kumudam this week. The first story was insipid. Atleast this week's Silvia (in AV) seemed to have a few dashes of interest here and there.

I love his non-fiction science essays more than his sci-fi novels.
