Hello MGR fans,
MGR's brother MG Chakkarapani was also an actor and gaurdian for MGR ..He acted in many movies also ..But I have never noticed him and didn't even know how he looks like ..I never seen a single photo og MG chakkarapani .

Can anybody post any image of MG chakkarapani?

have u seen the movie ALI BABA vum Forty Thieves.., u can find him in that movie as Brother of Puratchi thalaivar..,

Famous dialogue is there by M.G.Chakrapani.., tht is
"Thira Kathavey thira"

U can imagine MGR in maaru vesham ( that old man get up in Padagotti ) Actually MGR in old man get up will resemble Chakrapani !
The 2 have similarities .

When MGR underwent kidney transplant in Brooklyn, it was chakrapani's daughter who donated one.

I believe he was never been a big star. A character artiste who was not popular enough

So it is obvious that we cant find pictures of him.

Agree that he was not popular ..But we have so many MGR's rare old photos with Young Kalainjar ,NT ,Nampiyar,kannadasan taken offscreen function ..But never seen his brother in any of them

He was equally popular as a drama artist ..Infact he was called as 'Periyavar' ,so MGR was called as 'Chinnavar'

Chakrapani for MGR is what Charuhassan is for Kamal.

One is slow, lumbering, old looking man and the other, youthful, athletic, energetic young man.

I always complain about Chakrapani to my dad who used to scold me. I'd complain, "look at MGR and look at his brother. What contribution Chakrapani did to the cinema and what..."

By then my dad will say, "shut up!" and have a good laugh.

Dad always noticed this in Chakrapani when he appears in contemporary drama, his ties are alway short...barely enough to cover his belly. My family will have a good laugh.

But on a serious note, he is a good character actor... as was most of the supporting stars of the time.
