I'm more inline with shwas thinking .. why would any parent disclose to their little child about disturbing events that could spoil the child's emotions for ever ? Would you do that ?
So going by the same, the little kid only knows about what she saw and what Kamal teaches them to handle the cops/interrogation that does not include the real murder. In anticipation that the kid or even others in his family might spill the beans about the burying, he moved it to be on the safe side and never disclosed it to anybody even after everything was over.

We have a Nammavar fan in Chess Champion Vishy Anand ...
Words from the Legendary Chess Player #ViswanathanAnand
Do you watch a lot of Tamil films?
I do. I just watched Papanasam and I loved it… it was a very good movie. All the other films I watched recently were English, like Interstellar, The Imitation Game… I watched The Imitation Game because of the chess connection. One of the people in the film, CHOD Alexander, played chess. In fact, I have a book of his about world chess champions.
Do you have a favourite actor?
Mmmm… Kamal. I’ve sort of grown up watching his films.

Watched yesterday. Really good. Kamal sir
More than acting, i enjoyed the screenplay and logic behind every moves (like the Kalabhavan Mani asking Kamal why he keeps the receipts (which nobody does these days)).
