Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan - He is not only a gem of an actor but in politics too. If only people had been able to know his active role in politics in right perspective they would not even thought of any other politician. Unfortunately he did not have the media backing which might have been the main reason. Mr. Murali Sir knows what I am meaning. Please read my earlier lengthy posting regarding his leadership of the party TMM. It is only a sample. Yes, oru paanai soaru. Every one of us had missed a great leader in him. I have lots and lots of tales to tell. Every one of you will feel how we lost a great leader in NT.

An beautiful song sung by LR and great music by MSV - clear words no overlapping music.

Dear Joe,
I am trying to locate Kizakku Padhipagam I think it is in Alwarpet to buy that book " Sivaji - Nadigar mudhal Thilagam varai ".
Dear Karthik,
Regarding Pattathu Rani, there is one more thing. The Tamil song was recorded first and Hindi song later. (Groucho, this was a bi-lingual production with shooting take place simultaneously. Rajendra Kumar & Waheeda Rahman played the lead roles). Asha on hearing Pattathu Rani was so impressed that she refused to sing the Hindi version saying that she cannot do justice to the song. Later she was persuaded to sing the same. But for me it was PS's rendering of "Sollavo- Sugamano Kadhai Sollavo" that takes the cake. A fast dance number so LRE-ish, MSV put PS for the same and PS came out with flying colours.
One more thing about Sivandha Man(n) is in the above mentioned song, there will be a long prelude before the start of the song which was cut short later in the records. Also when it was first released in 1969, I had seen it 3, 4 times and there would be a speech by NT to a gathering after the climax fight (after MNN getting killed in the air baloon basket) and this would end with NT saying Jaihind. But in later releases, this scene was not there. The film would end after NT piercing the baloon with the knife and when the basket reaches the ground, the film would end. I always wondered why they cut that portion later. Raghavendran Sir, hope you remember what I am talking about. Don't know whether it is there in VCD/DVD. Some one can clarify.
