Tanhayee is definitely one of my fave songs!
Sonu Nigam has surely given his share of unforgettable hits...the ones that jump to mind is
of course the beautifully heartbreaking: Kal Ho Na Ho...
Suraj Hua Maddham another exquisite fave
the awesome Pyaar Ki Ek Kahani
the "color coordinated" Tumhi Dekho Na
and the magical Sun Zara
Those are nice revists too.
I would like to add

Raghavendran....tell me about it...am majorly addicted!!

Que,
adhu epadi.. naan kaeta paatai neenga kaeteenga..
Madhuri kaga.. nethi dhan youtube parthen indha paatuku.................... thanks for the link Que.
There are 2 tamil versions of this song.
1 from Oonjal (Dubbed version of the original Hindi track) sung by Srilekha Parthasarathy and Unni Krishnan. The song was called Kangal Pesum.
The other 1 is from Jodi and the song is Kadhal Kaditham by Unni Menon and Janaki.
Doli saja ke rakhna was in fact Jyothika's first ever film and she debuted through Bollywood not Kollywood.
Doli saja ke rakhna is one of ARRs most underrated album, which is sad because all the songs are a delight. OTOH I don't know how well they fared with the Tamil audience.
Hmmm don't even know of the 1st version you listed, I know the 2nd version was a hit...seriously we had three "best hits of the year" cds, all three listed this song.
As I say to V_S in Raja's gem thread...that you have taken the time to share what is unknown, forgotten or underrated allows for its once sad fate to become a listener's new happy fate  whoa...major corny that.
Ishq bina ishq bina - Part 2

I love this version more, :omg: the intro  - Kavita ji
When the orchestration and the thumping Hip hop beats fuse with the ethnic beats the song delivers one of the most memorable transformations of genre. The choral humming just emotionally backup the already acompalished impact of the song.

This song has been haunting my mind for the past few days....will always love it...beautiful lyrics as well...heartfelt Salaam to Lata-ji's singing :notworthy:
Solah Baras Ki Bali Umar Ko Salaam- Ek Duje Ke Liye
Solah Baras Ki Baali Umar Ko Salaam
Aye Pyar Teri Pehli Nazar Ko Salaam
Duniya Mein Sabse Pehle Dilbar Ko Salaam
Dilse Nikalne Waale Raste Ka Shukriya
Dil Tak Pahunchne Wali Dagar Ko Salaam
Aye Pyar Teri ...
Jis Mein Jawaan Hokar Badnaam Hum Huye
Us Shehar Us Gali Us Ghar Ko Salaam
Jisne Humein Milaaya, Jisne Juda Kiya
Us Waqt, Us Ghadi, Us Pal Ko Salaam
Aye Pyar Teri...
Koshish kar k dekh lay darya saray, nadiyan sari
Dil kee lagi nahi bujhti, bujhti hae har chingari..
Sola baras kee
Sola baras kee bali umr ko salam
Aae pyar teri pehli nazar ko salam
salam
aae pyar teri pehli nazar ko salam
dunya main sab se pehlay jisnay ye dil dia
dunya k sab se pehlay dilbar ko salam
dil se nikalnay walay rastay ka shukria
dil tak puhanchnay wali dagar ko salam
aae pyar teri pehli nazar ko salam
salam
aae pyar teri pehli nazar ko salam
jismain jawan ho kar badnam ham huay
jismain jawan ho kar badnam ham huay
us shehr us gali us ghar ko salam
jisnay hamain milaya jisnay juda kia
us waqt us ghari us gajar ko salam
aae pyar teri pehli nazar ko salam
salam
aae pyar teri pehli nazar ko salam
miltay rahay yahan ham ye hae yahan likha
iss likawat kee zaer o zabar ko salam
sahil kee raet per yun lehra utha ye dil
sagar main uthnay wali har lehr ko salam
in mast gehri gehri ankhun kee jheel main
jisnay hamain daboya uss bhanwar ko salam
ghunghat ko tor ker jo sir se sarak gai
aesi nigori dhani chunar ko salam
ulfat k dushmanun ne
ulfat k dushmanun ne koshish hazar kee
phir b nahi jhuki jo uss nazar ko salam
aae pyar teri pehli nazar ko salam
sola baras kee bali umr ko salam
aae pyar teri pehli nazar ko salam
salam
aae pyar teri pehli nazar ko salam

A classic romantic melody from the 1970's. K.J. Yesudas and Lata Mangeshkar singing for Sanjeev Kumar and Waheeda Rehman - Movie: TRISHUL - Lyrics: Sahir - Music: Khayyam-ji
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1s9b8PTYhs
Querida,
What a song by Laxmikant Pyarelal and Lata! Terrific opening by Anoop Jalota. Expected him to continue more. I wish I could watch lata sing this song live especially when she goes upper octaves. It will be just like she is reading a book, that's it (just like our SJ). No strain of muscles, faces.
raagadevan,
Great song by Khayyam and Yesudas. I am big fan of Sanjeev kumar, excellent actor but we lost him so soon.
Thanks for sharing!
V_S: I am glad you liked the song from TRISHUL. Sanjeev Kumar was a great actor, and one of my favorites too. Like many of the great artists, he left us too soon!
Yesudas sang three songs in that movie; "aap ki mehki huyi..." for Sanjeev Kumar, and two other songs for Amitab Bachchan. "Big B" was the angry young man those days!!! The Amitab songs were "mohabat bade kaam ki cheez hai..." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSFTbC3betg&NR=1) and "jaa ri behnaa jaa..." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aapSl4H93kw&feature=fvst); both with Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. The third song was not in the final version of the movie that was released.
V_S nice reading your thoughts, it would be a real treat to see such a legend sing this song :D
Nice travel song, boisterous and energetic, syncs very well with the train chugging along

Nice bhajan song Sunil. Very soothing! Is that girl Padmini Kolhapure?
Yes indeed, there's also a Manna Dey version of the same song.

Saif ali khan and Rani mukherji at their best. Nice romantic song :)
