Purampokku (Tamil: புறம்போக்கு) is an upcoming Indian Tamil film directed by S. P. Jananathan. It features Arya and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead cast.[1] The film is set to be shot extensively around Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chennai. The movie will be jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures and S. P. Jananathan's production house Binary Pictures.[2] Purampokku is a term used for goon and also refers to lands in slums.

Purampokku updates

Vijay Sethupathi and Arya starrer Purampokku is progressing well and the latest development on this movie is that a jail set has been erected at a cost of Rs. 2 crores. This set will be the highlight of Purampokku, say sources close to the unit.

Interestingly, art director Selva Kumar, who enamoured the movie buffs with his astounding sets in Madarasapattinam that took the audiences to a different era, is the man behind the sets in Purampokku. Looks like the film buffs have another visual treat in the offing.

கார்த்திகா துணிச்சல்: இயக்குநர் பாராட்டு


'புறம்போக்கு' படத்தின் காட்சிக்காக 2 மணி நேரத்தில் ஒட்டகம் ஒட்ட கற்றுக் கொண்டு, உடனே காட்சியில் நடித்ததிற்காக இயக்குநர் எஸ்.பி.ஜனநாதன் கார்த்திகாவை பாராட்டினார்.

ஆர்யா, விஜய் சேதுபதி, ஷாம், கார்த்திகா உள்ளிட்ட பலர் நடித்து வரும் படம் 'புறம்போக்கு'. முதல் பிரதி அடிப்படையில் எஸ்.பி.ஜனநாதன் இயக்கி தயாரித்து வருகிறார். யு.டிவி நிறுவனம் இப்படத்தினை தயாரித்து வருகிறது.

இப்படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு படுதீவிரமாக நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. ஆர்யா, விஜய் சேதுபதி, ஷாம் உள்ளிட்டவர்களுக்கு போட்டியாக சண்டை பயிற்சிகள் கற்றுக் கொண்டு, சண்டை காட்சிகள் எல்லாம் நடித்து இருக்கிறார்.

‘புறம்போக்கு’ படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு ராஜஸ்தான் மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள ஜெய்சால்மர் பகுதியில் நடைபெற்றுள்ளது. அப்போது ஒரு காட்சியில், கார்த்திகா ஒட்டகம் ஒட்ட வேண்டும் என்று இயக்குநர் எஸ்.பி.ஜனநாதன் கூறியிருக்கிறார். இயக்குநர் கூறிவிட்டார் என்று உடனே, 2 மணி நேரத்தில் ஒட்டகம் ஒட்டக் கற்றுக் கொண்டு அன்றைய தினமே அக்காட்சியிலும் நடித்து கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.

கார்த்திகாவின் இந்த முயற்சியினை இயக்குநர் மட்டுமன்றி 'புறம்போக்கு' படக்குழுவும் வெகுவாக பாராட்டியிருக்கிறது.

Visited the biggest ever prison set coming up for #Purampokku. Fantastic work by Jhana sir & art director. Huge & going to be the highlight

Had a hard time controlling from falling asleep.
Vijay Sethupathi kept me awake.

Basically its a jail-break story, but without a strong foundation.
Anyone who wants to be suicide bomber, should be hanged to death anyway.

Climax was so meh

Jananadhan can surely do better?

well .. actually a decent movie that is almost completely spoiled by commercial compromises like 3 of the most horrible songs ever in Tamil film history, revolutionary heroine wearing tight t-shirts etc ..

every one acted well for most of the film.. Arya still looks too one-dimensional in some scenes .. Vijay Sethupathy did well.. especially climax .. Shaam was convincing..

there is absolutely no way, some one would get a death sentence for such a "nothing" crime .. Arya killed no one .. he just attempted to bomb an army van .. that flashback was very weak..

but the climax is good .. again not without questions .. Jananadhan can surely do much better .. but, this is watchable.. not bad..

Yup, it's decent but nothing awe inspiring like his earlier works.
Trying to bomb some army people in the middle of nowhere to raise awareness of international dumping?
Come on man, you can do better than that.
