Will 220V mixie brought from india work in US with convertor

Hi, Appreciate some quick clarification. One of our friends is bringing us a 220V preethi mixie from india. Just want to know
if it will work in US if i use a converter.

I bought a 220v wet grinder and tried it with a convertor. The grinder ran slow and then the convertor burnt out. I understand it is just not thevolt power but also something else which is different.

I have both a 220 v mixie and a 220 v grinder from India. I use a maximum capacity converter (not sure what the capacity is). I have been using it for past 5 years and and use the same convertor for mixie as well as grinder and have had no problem. Try to get a convertor with max capcity (i think 50 to 500 watts).
