Thats not suprising. Next few years, we can see a host of succesful music directors kai-koopufying in the direction of AR Rahman just as a previous generation of 'good' composers across the country did to Ilaiyaraja. Rahman is in that stage of his career now. Sadly, tamil film music's golden period is over with the trinity of MSV, IR, ARR nearing the end of their combined dominance over 45-50 years. I cant see a future generation bollywood composer paying obsequiance to YSR, HJ or Vijay Antony!
I think that unfortunatly we'll not have any trend-setting MDs in the indian music scene in the near future... ARR has set the standard to such a height that nobody (in the near future) can surpass him... at best they can reach his level...
