Reposting in this thread as I created a new thread earlier by mistake...
I have tried searching the Net for the following IR songs. If anyone could provide me these songs it would be of great help.
1. Mouname Nenjil Naalum Nee Ezhuthum from Urangaatha Ninaivugal
2. En Gaanam Indru from Eera Vizhi Kaaviyangal (the one from coolgoose doesn't play in Windows Media Player)
3. Paniyil Nanaiyum Malargal Irandu from Priya O Priya
Thanks in advance
Mouna Ragam theme inspired by the Flasdance love theme ??
http://youtube.com/watch?v=pOhI-F6nfRg - Flashdance theme
http://youtube.com/watch?v=U-dc4Hg2O8w - Mouna Ragam theme
I could only see the similar moods they create - any comments ?
er IRIR23...inetk posted this about 3 to 4 yrs ago. Its in the itwofs list.

No inspiration I could see :)
MR's theme is even better than that one.
You are right... there is a vague similarity especially with the rising tempo in the middle. Yet, Flashdance theme didn't lift the senses the way MR did. :)Quote:

great songs, with stunning rehashes of "shenbagame shenbagame" and "jingadi jingadi onakku"
Its really a pity that IR didn't do many more Hindi albums... Hope he makes up with more like Cheeni kum. Now waiting eagerly for Pa.
Can anyone share with me the song "Singaara Cheemaiyile" from the film Ninaivu Chinnam sung by IR himself..
the rehash of shenbagame is gud at the beginning but the charanam part doesnt gel for a hindi movie!
aagaya is a classic!
most noticeable are the 80s style use of strings + the bass line of IR!
the flute pieces give such the distinct IRish southie feel - dont gel
Fikr na kar is the rehash of the song Uthamaputhiri naanu from Guru Sishyan (not Jingidi jingidi).
cool, I didn't notice that! is that song picturised in the movie? I don't remember... its basically the same tune thoughQuote:

Anyways, thanks a lot for sharing Mahadev songs. I was hunting for the mp3 for long time.

Ananth222, thanks a million for the songs! Like many, I was searching for these songs as well for a very long time. Due to time constraint, I dont visit this thread really much. But thanks to my curiosity to know what is happening in this thread (Sharing BGM) that I discovered these albums.
I have always compared S.Janaki and Asha Bhosle for some similarities in their voices and style of singing. Wondering if IR as well observed it. He used Asha Bhosle for tamil version and SJ for hindi version!!
So, Mohd. Aziz also has sung for IR. Remember IR saying that Mohd. Rafi was one of his favourite singer. Probably its a reason to use Mohd. Aziz.
I agree that most of the flute pieces is very southie IR style.
"Dilwale" song is really good song for the funky tune and interludes. I feel even today, if its played (as it is ... not rehashed), it has potential to be a bit.
thanks,
Krishnan
pls don't thank me, thank Nikhilesh on Orkut

Thanks ananth for providing Mouname Nenjil Naalum, a lovely song. Appreciate it very much. I wish the version you provided had the opening few lines sung by IR.Quote:

Rajasaranam,
There are a couple of Kannada songs that I am looking for:
1. Marayada harushada from (Mathu thappadha maga?)
2. Bhanoo Bhoomiya (Original of Edho Ninaivugal)
By any chance, you have it?
Hi Plum,
Not sure about their availability on the web but you can get the audio tape in Bangalore. There is a tape which has three movies in it,'Mathu Tappadha Maga' and 'Pallavi Anupallvi' being two of them. Excellent songs. So if you have someone in Bangalore ask them to look for this.
The other film on the tape, I think it is called 'Barjari Beta' (not sure) is probably avoidable :)
S.Suresh
Suresh,
If you havent listened to 'Bharjari Beate' you are missing some great music from Maestro :P Dont pass judgment without listening
Rajasaranam,
I have listened to 'Bharjari Beate' and I honestly don't find the music as good as the music of the other two movies mentioned.

Joining in the celebration of 50K members in the Ilaiyaraaja community in Orkut iam proud to announce 50K views of the upload i did of GUNA BGM.
this Vdo Includes both the prelude and postlude of the song Paarthavizhi from the movie Guna.
Scene Description: The hero lives in a delusional world thinking himself as lord Shiva and waiting for getting married to 'Abhirami' [Another name of goddess parvathi]. His uncle tries using Guna's skill of opening any kind of lock to rob from a temple and brings him to temple on the pretext that Abhirami will come there. Guna keeps nagging him when will Abhirami come and when will they get married. His uncle in a mood of anger tells him that she will come in a procession like this, showing an ongoing procession. Guna looks at the heroine for the first time and imagining her as Abhirami falls in love instantly.
You can also witness that Ilaiyaraaja's songs are just the extension of his BGM
watch here! for this absolute masterpiece :)

Rajasaranam,
Shri.Ilayaraja reminds me Shri.MSV's IRAVUM NILAVUM MALARATTUMEY..... composition in the bgm - Time 0:56 to 1:46.
Check with the knowledgeable for me. I rely on my ears! :)
More I listen & hum along the IMPROVISATIONS, that bgm - Shri.MSV song Iravum nilavum... in Raga Saranga.
It is a regular temple festival sound with melam etc..
Paartha vizhi.... Immortal Shri.Yesudas with OUTSTANDING range & resonance! :ty:
:ty: Shri. Ilayaraja.
Vinatha.
rs, thanks a lot. Downloaded. enjoying...Marayada Harushada is so much in Salilda's style... I dont think he composed another song in that style again
We were shifting our house and while packing, had a chance to go through my archived collections of audio cassettes. Found a few rare collections which I am not sure had been discussed here previously.
1. "Kaadhalai gowravikkum neram" - Non-filmi Pop isai album by IR and KR with Malaysian singers
2. "Thenpaandi singam" - TV serial starring Nasser and written by Kalaignar
3. "Kanmani oru Kavidhai" - Bharathan's Mallu movie starring Vineeth.. dubbed as KoK. Has beautiful nos. especially one by Bombay Jeyashree...
