100 Years of Indian Cinema Celebrations - As big as they come

The 100 years of Cinema celebration, organized by the SIFCC, was kicked-off in a grand manner yesterday at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. Many prominent personalities from the industry were honored, as reported earlier.
The stars and personalities who attended the event yesterday and made it all the more special were Rajini, Kamal, Vijay, Ajith, Vikram, Prabhu with his son Vikram, Sowcar Janaki, Aishwarya Dhanush, Sivakumar, Ilayaraja, Jayapradha, K.Balachander, Trisha, Simran, Meena, Saroja Devi, Manorama, Balakrishna, P Vasu, AVM Saravanan, Bhagyaraj, Dharani, Boney Kapoor, Abirami Ramanathan, Radha with her daughters Thulasi and Karthika along with the Honorable Ministers of the TN Govt, to name a few. The absence of one of the foremost writers in the Tamil film industry, M.Karunanidhi was sorely felt by many.
The likes of Sarath Kumar, Vikraman, Editor Mohan, AVM Saravanan were seated on the dais as the Chief Minister of the State, J.Jayalalithaa inaugurated the gala event, with a brilliant speech about the history of cinema and Indian Cinema's emergence.
Today, the Kannada industry's representatives put on a great show with the likes of Ramesh Aravind performing. Kamal Haasan gave away awards to some of the prominent Kannada filmmakers.
The Telugu and Malayalm industries would be performing in the evening and tomorrow morning respectively.
