Music Director V.Kumar's classics

V.Kumar was one of the leading music directors in the late 60s and early 70 and had composed some memorable hits for K.Balachander and a host of others. His hits include :

1. Bama Vijayam
2. Edhir neechal
3. Arangetram
4. Major Chandrakanth
5. Raja naagam
6. Velli vizha

Todays' generation might not have heard of him but its worth discussing about him as he had composed some lovely songs.

I think Bama vijayam was by Vkumar only and not MSV. Pls confirm.

There was another song , lovely one, SPB and Vani Jayaram -

Sapthaswaram punnagayil kanden - Which movie is this , this is by Vkumar only.

Also, Unnidam mayangugiren song by Yesudas - Which movie ??

I must have watched this movie atleast over 100 times. I watched this movie specifically for Deivam Thantha Veedu song. ITs by V Kumar. If you have a DVD, please watch it. I will see if I can get some screen short when they display MD's name.

We should add one more super hit of V.Kumar "Nootrukku Nooru" by KB. (can anybody forget the song, P.Suseela's "naan unnai vaazhthi paadugiren...nee vara veNdum").

There is another song by TMS - Nitham Nitham oru putham pudiya sugam - Beautiful song - TMS is his great variety, by singing like Jayshankar in a mild manner.

Lets a put a rest on Aval oru thodar kathai - I am telling emphatically , its MSV only and V kumar. However , bamavijayam was by Vkumar

"AvaL oru thodarkathai" by M.S.Viswanathan only. It is 200% sure.

(You watched the movie 100 times. But all the 100 times you were sleeping when title card was shown).

V.Kumar's last movie with KB was 'Arangetram' only.

From 'Aval oru thodar kathai' KB worked with MSV. It continued as
'Apoorva Raagangal',
'Manmadha Leelai',
'Moondru Mudichu',
'Avargal',
'Ninaithaaley Inikkum',
'Nizhal nijamaagirathu', '
'VaRumaiyin niRam sivappu'...and so on....

Even when V.Kumar was compossing music for KB, KB used MSV then and there, such as "Bama Vijayam', Anubavi Raja Anubavi, Punnagai, KaNNaa Nalamaa, Kaaviya thalaivi....etc.

Kaviyathalavi was composed by MSV and not VKumar.
There is a melodius song ( typical MSV song ), Kayyodu kai serkkum kaalangalay ( by Susheela )

By the way, Poova thalayaa was composed by MSV only
