Hi friends,

To make the world cup more interesting I have set up a nice bidding game in which we all can participate and compete with each other for points.

HERE ARE THE RULES:

1. For a Given match, you've to support one particular team.

For Example India vs South Africa.

If you support India, Mention it. (mention whichever team you support for a particular match)

Then, You've to quote three bids for the game whichever you predict to happen.

For Example:

Bid-1: Sachin to score 50+ runs.

Bid-2: Zaheer Khan to take 2+ Wickets.

Bid-3: Smith to score less than 20 runs.

P.S: Each of your bid will be awarded 50 points(Fixed) if you win, and on losing a bid, you'll lose 50 points. And 100 points will be awarded if the team you support wins and no points will be deducted if your team loses.

Some rules on Bidding

Any Bid of yours should be sensible. If we consider a Bid to be insensible, We'll cancel that particular Bid.

You're not allowed to make a bid like "Sachin to score more than 10 runs",This will be considered as an invalid bid.

But at the same time , you can make a bid as "Sachin to score less than 15 runs" , this is a risky bid , be prepared to lose 50 points if you flop. If you come out successful , we will award a bonus of 30 points along with the 50(fixed) points.

Please do not use this everywhere , saying Nehra will score less than 10 . Same is the rule when it comes to bowling , do not quote a part timer for risky bids.

If you say - Pathan to score less than 10 and he remains not out for a score less than 10 - you lose.

Risky Bids:
For openers - use 15 runs as the minimum value and for middle order - use 10 runs, you are free to quote a duck. The not-out rule applies for all. You cannot use this for a tail ender.

Hope you people do it sensibly. We can't set a definition for everything.

Normal Bidding

For bids on Batting

>If you're betting on a batsman, minimum runs you quote should be 30 runs.

>If you're combining 3 players for your bid, then

>If you're betting on a batsman (Top Order batsman(1,2,3)), minimum runs that you quote should be 45 runs.

>If you're betting on a batsman (Middle Order batsman(4,5,6,7)), minimum runs that you quote should be 30 runs.

>If you're betting on a batsman (Tail Ender(8,9,10,11)), minimum runs that you quote should be 10 runs.

>If you're combining 3 players (i.e like sachin + yuvraj + pathan to score so and so runs), then your minimum quote should be 105 runs (i.e., 45+30+30 for positions of sachin, yuvi, pathan respectively, and never mind if sachin falls for a duck, still if yuvi, pathan cross 105 runs(combined) you win your bid.

Another example for better understanding,

>If you're combining 3 players (say, gambhir + pathan + nehra to score so and so runs) your minimum quote should be 85 runs (45+30+10 for Gambhir,Pathan,Nehra respectively)

>You can apply the same rule for combining 2 players.(say if you're bidding sachin + sehwag to score so and so runs, then your minimum quote should be 90 runs(45+45).

>You're not allowed to combine more than '3' players.

>Bids comparing players (say like sachin + sehwag + gambhir will score higher than haddin + watson + ponting) will still be considered but you won't get bonus points for such bids.

Bonus points in a combo bid will be given to only one player - the one with the maximum bonus points. Otherwise , its normal

For Bids on Bowling..

You're not allowed to make a bid like "Brett Lee will get a wicket" etc, This will be considered as an invalid bid.

>If you're betting on a front line bowler (All 4 specialist bowlers in a team are considered as frontline bowlers. Players like Kallis/Watson can't be called as a frontline bowler) Your minimum bid should be 2 wickets.

>If you're betting on a part time bowler, your minimum bid can be for a wicket (used only for combo bid and not separately).

>If you're combining bowlers(say, if you're bidding Bollinger + Brett lee to pick so and so wickets) then your minimum bid must be 4 wickets.

>If you're combining bowlers(say, one front-line,one part timer like Clarke + Lee to pick so and so wickets) your minimum bid must be 3 wickets.

P.S:

>Bids like "Virat kohli will take a catch etc are invalid".

>Bidding on Strike rates & Economy rates of Batsman and bowlers are not permitted. But, those will be considered for Bonus points for the players you've mentioned in Bids.
